Unfortunately, I never met the guy. :(
That is not only unfortunate, that is damnable. You can meet Him, though. He wants you to know Him. Can I tell you about Him? He loves every person that ever lived or will ever live. He knows you, very intimately- better than anyone ever knew you. Yet, He still loves you! He knows you so well, He's count every hair on your head- and keeps up with the changing number.
The best thing about Jesus is He is the only One who never denies a person based on sex, color, socioeconomic status, age, intelligence, ability, health, criminal history, moral state, or anything else that we so often cast people aside. All who come to Him are welcome, just as they are.
He is my Saviour, my Friend, my Advocate, my Brother, my Sacrifice, my Shepherd, my Helper, my Assurance.

He is altogether beautiful. The only person who ever was altogether beautiful, no sin, no darkness, nothing terrible in Him. He is the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star.

I was a Christian for 3 decades, but I can't say I ever met him personally. If you have, great, I'm happy for you!

If you never met Him, then you were an academic Christian, but not converted. I think you must have had head knowledge but not heart knowledge. Christianity is knowing Christ as your personal Saviour. If you had ever been saved, you would know Him.

He never leaves His own. He says He is the good Shepherd, and His sheep know His voice. We know Him. I talk to Him about everything.

Not really, many others and myself would have considered me to be quite passionate about Christ.

Let me put it like this: I could know all about George Washington, read all his biographies, letters, accounts of him by his contemporaries. I could be passionate about George Washington, think he was a great leader and fine man. I could admire his morals. But I can't know him. I can know ABOUT him, but not him, personally.

People who are saved know Christ personally. We don't just know ABOUT Him- we know Him, the living Christ.

Did he appear to you?

As an hallucination or vision? No, and I have not heard Him audibly. I did have an experience when I was saved- I can not describe it. The best way I can put it is being filled with light- or being completely washed inside. It was a filling sensation. Never happened before or since. I know not everyone who is saved necessarily has an emotional experience, but I did.

For some of us, with a low opinion of ourselves, it is hard to believe, hard to comprehend. Why does this divine being love us? Who is He? I don't fully understand His plan. I think it is only when we drop our guard, our need to understand (our analytical brain)the whole story, that we can have faith. "I give up. You are the truth. Yes, OK I believe you love me. Now I'll try to love you back." :)

John DEFINITELY was an eye witness, he was an Apostle and that was one of the qualifications of being one, you had to have witnessed Christ life, death, and resurrection...

The vast majority of NT historians agree, all four gospels were written by anonymous authors and none claim to be eye witnesses.

No. Catholics don't get saved like Prots do. We rely on Baptism at birth. (well, cradle Catholics do anyway)
As someone who was raised Catholic, I'm still not entirely sure what all this "saved" business is about. I'm only aware of it because of sites like this one. I don't know that I've ever heard that term uttered out loud.

I know cradle Catholics who talk about being saved and remembering when they were saved. Is it a difference in locality, maybe?
