John DEFINITELY was an eye witness, he was an Apostle and that was one of the qualifications of being one, you had to have witnessed Christ life, death, and resurrection...

How is it known he was an eyewitness? Did he refer to himself at any point in that, like saying "And when we were with Jesus" or something like that?

Yes, all people who do not accept Christ as Saviour are lost. They were lost already.

I don't do enough to get out the gospel of Christ. I am not the witness I ought to be.

Though isn't it said that those who never heard of Christ go to heaven? Then why should we try to witness to people if stone of them then might go to hell because they now know of Jesus?

this one may have gone over my head.
I am twisting the truth? Distorting it?

I wrote this in 1992 and since it mentioned something about truth I posted it just for people to read and contemplate.

Notice Jesus didn't write anything and John's Gospel was written decades later, maybe not even an eyewitness, so there's a chance Jesus didn't even say that.
I believe the Bible. John was an eyewitness. He was with Christ the whole time of His ministry.
I can back it up with other Scriptures.
After His resurrection Matthew 28:18-19 "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost"

If Buddhism was a way, why would Jesus Himself instruct the believers to teach all nations?

No, it is not said that those who never heard of Him will go to Heaven, they are lost. This is why missions is vitally important.

I think the Catholic Church regards other faiths/religions/denoms as having part of the truth. Catholics have the "fullness" of Truth. Yay! Team Catholic wins! (hope my humour doesn't offend)

How is that? I can understand believing you have the fullness of truth. And that other Christian sects have parts of the truth- but how can this be about Islam, Hinduism, or Buddhism? I do not count Judaism as Christianity arose from Judaism, of course.

But if you look at some of the tenets of Buddhism, like compassion for others , there is a lot of overlap. No God or Jesus Christ was a problem for me so I quit. But still, their aim is promote love and compassion. Not a bad thing,

We consider "God" and "Jesus" and likewise to be in the realm of speculation, and Buddhism is all about dealing with the realm of knowledge ... I haven't encountered these entities.

What is Truth? Truth has no lie in it, an opinion of the truth is not truth. Opinion is only an opinion. God doesn't have an opinion because He knows the Truth. Here is an interesting statement that is worth pondering, 'Only God speaks Truth' Truth is a conversation with the Father, you can tell people about the Truth, but only God speaks Truth. When one abides in Truth also a way is made for them and a life.
