That sounds like one of those Zen Buddhist koans.
I'm not sure what they could mean. In Catholicism, if they commit a mortal sin and aren't sorry for it, they're back to not being eligible for heaven. You're never permanently "saved" under Catholic doctrine.I know cradle Catholics who talk about being saved and remembering when they were saved. Is it a difference in locality, maybe?
Sorry . Better I don't pretend I know the answer to this one. I don't think we get "saved" in the same meaning as Protestants get saved. Someone else?I know cradle Catholics who talk about being saved and remembering when they were saved. Is it a difference in locality, maybe?
we have to keep repenting every day.I'm not sure what they could mean. In Catholicism, if they commit a mortal sin and aren't sorry for it, they're back to not being eligible for heaven. You're never permanently "saved."
Does that engender fear? But it does explain why my cousin was able to convert to Catholicism so easily as she was Pentecostal and they believe salvation can be lost.I'm not sure what they could mean. Not in my experience. If someone isn't sorry for committing a mortal sin, chances are they disagree that it's a mortal sin, so they aren't worried. Premarital sex, for example.Does that engender fear?

We could all say this in regards to the fact that people from different backgrounds aren't familiar with all of the same religious concepts. Personally, I don't see the point of such comments. That is just sad...
Source? That is just totally FALSE - most NT "historians" are atheist...
Academic Phd level historians, which the vast majority are, christians. Anyone that has spent anytime reading their work would know, there is a consensus, the gospels were penned by anonymous authors. What HISTORIANS are you speaking of? Any Protestant Historian I have EVER heard of confers that the gospels were written by the Apostle it is named after and therefore a witness of Christ's life, death, and resurrection.

Actually, you asked bhsmte.Hah! I asked you first!
Actually, you asked bhsmte.
And I asked because I am genuinely curious to hear what scholastic support there is that the four gospels were literally all written by their namesakes. Granted, I've only studied it at the undergraduate level, but my professors gave a pretty good overview of where the research currently stands.
