  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is the purpose behind an eternal hell?

You have never seen a rainbow?

I have. It's caused by reflection and dispersion of light in water droplets that results in a spectrum. There never was a world wide flood. This is falsified by all geologic evidence. It's a myth.

Why can man now eat meat?

Because it's a food source. Our ancestors even learned how to cook it. Stone tools for butchering meat appear about 2.5 million years ago. Why is this question relevant?

You fear a worldwide flood?

Why would I fear a world wide flood? Why is this question relevant. Could you try to construct a coherent argument? This is just nonsense.

That is what it is in the religious sense.

Not based on what we see practiced by religionists.

Really, what do you see?

People who are wildly overconfident in the absolute veracity of their religion's supernatural claims.

Knowing God produces absolute veracity.

That's the problem: you haven't shown that you possess any knowledge of the divine, much less knowledge that is absolutely true.

As you can see, we were talking about the word faith and I defined it, you said it wasn't what was practiced by religionists (a strange word) and I asked what you did see. You then change the discussion from faith to demonstrating knowledge of the Divine and absolute truth. Now my point was about faith as a theist views it and how you would see it.
