With prices for gas surging its taking more money to just get to your job or make trips to buy the everyday necessities.

"....Oil surges to highest mark ever
Crude futures rise to trading record past $102 a barrel; weak dollar prompts investment in energy. -- Oil prices broke through a new intraday high of $102 a barrel Wednesday as a slide in the U.S. dollar prompted investors to pump more money into energy futures as a hedge against inflation...."

With no end in sight for the rise in gas, I thought it would be interesting to see how it affects people aroung the world. How high is the gas in your area and how many miles per gallon do you get out of your car.

The price of regular gas around my are has gone up to $3.29 a gallon, up from $3.03 a month ago. High octane was up to $3.59, and diesel was $3.65, so transporting anything is costing more. So I tried to see what the best gas mileage I could get out of my car and I managed 27-28 mpg which is pretty good for mainly stop and go city driving...

I have mixed feelings about the price of gasoline. I hate to pay it at the pump ( around here about $3.00 per gallon) but I love it when I sell a tank of crude oil. The future's price's of crude are at an all time high ( at or near $102 per barrel ). I get about five bucks less than the futures price so I get about $98.00 a barrel right now. We are selling around 88 barrels each time we sell a tank of oil so we are grossing a little over $8600.00 per tank. Of course they take out federal and state tax out of that. Right now we are selling several tanks per month.

My car is a 2004 Mitzubishi lancer and it gets over 38 miles per gallon on the highway. I also have a geo metro that gets over 40 mpg.

God Bless
