If D Taylor had said, "it is my belief that the moon has a dimmer switch" and I had said, "ha, ha, what a silly idea," that would be mocking.
He didn't say anything of the kind; he said the moon shines in phases. The idea of a dimmer switch was mine, and it was such a ridiculous one that I was laughing at myself.

It's not a case of me saying so. There is a great difference between making fun of oneself, as Strong in Him did, and making fun of others. The latter is wrong. I cannot see why you feel that Strong in Him is wrong to mock herself. She even explained: "The idea of a dimmer switch was mine, and it was such a ridiculous one that I was laughing at myself." So, no need to roll your eyes.
