A few hundred billion? Really? Please give some kind of support for this claim.

For reference, its estimated that there ever have lived 107 billion total.

Thanks VirOptimus
Mine was a wild guess.
I'll amend my post from "a few hundred" billion, to one hundred and seven billion.

No, only a third grader would use such poor logic...

and a third grader can understand it's nonsense.

Can we please stop co-opting third graders into the discussion. Make your own arguments. Third graders as a proxy?
Really?

...no true Third Grader (NTS fallacy)
...all Third Graders agree (appeal to authority???)
...you sound like a Third Grader (argumentum ad hominem)

Sheesh!

Sheesh!

Soon as people quit acting like children there will
be no valid reason to make such a comparison.

We get enough fallacies without you adding
fallacy -fallacies. In the, you know, dept of
Sheesh.

Okay, a physicist claims that Judeo-Christian theology can be derived from the laws of physics. That would be a great example if you could actually present how that works.

It's a pretty big claim... and I'm pretty dubious.
Pretty sure he has a book or two. I haven't read them.

You recognize a painting because you have seen people paint. We have not observed the formation of a universe. You are once again using a God of the Gaps Fallacy.
It's not God of the gaps for the 42nd time. It's the God of everything that is.

The issue is that not that creationists deny natural selection it is creationist misunderstanding of natural selection that is the issue.
They understand it the same way anyone does. They just disagree that it can account for major changes, like one kind of animal to another kind.

Provide valid sources for your claims. If you can't it only looks as if you were pushing woo woo.
I have. The discussions with Lawrence specifically are in willessees book. Remember him? Pictures in teserorieros. Several videos.
It even went on Fox News for an hour!
None of you look at the evidence then you say “ there’s no evidence”

As the bible says : “ seek, and ye will find” ;-)

C S Lewis was a very good writer, sometimes. But was not a scientist. He was a theologian who struggled with raging doubt. His books are an attempt to justify his faith. And some of those books do show how shaky his faith was.
Faith as big as a mustard seed can move mountains.

How do you know I think that? I don't have to have science explain a first cause in order to conclude that there was one, but I don't regard it as a scientific question at all. Science, as I said, is limited to observing and studying the orderly behavior of nature and that is as far a science can go. It neither affirms nor denies the existence of that which it cannot observe and study.
The idea that science can't observe and study the nature of reality is absurd. Pretty sure physics does exactly that.

So your argument is the unbacked claim of a writer of mediocre pre-teen fantasy novels?
I loved his fantasy novels... and they aren't all for teens. Did you even read the space trilogy? And he wrote a lot more than fantasy.
Actually, I think Chesterton, one of the other writers in Lewis' circle of friends, said it best when he said the Materialist,( by which he meant the one believing in only a material universe,) was a very narrow-minded person, much more narrow-minded than the theist.

It means gravity was created for a purpose, not as a random result of a random universe.

Well, yeah. That was one of the proposals I made. Creation v natural processes. There's no need to repeat it. I asked what difference would it make between you and me.

If I drop my pencil and you do the same, they both hit the floor at the same time. So what's the practical difference that you see?

Faith as big as a mustard seed can move mountains.
Apparently only in Islamic mythology.
The saying "if Mohamed cannot come to the mountain, then the mountain must come to Mohamed" traces to a cute story that when pagans imprisoned Mohamed to prevent him from meeting the god on a mountain, the god brought the mountain to the prison where Mohamed was held.
Its a cute story. Not very convincing though

Sure, they observe and study the natural world just like any other scientists.

Physics systematically defines what science means by 'nature' and reality'.

It's not God of the gaps for the 42nd time. It's the God of everything that is.
Nope, it is classic God of the Gaps. Your argument amounts to "I do not understand how this could have happened naturally, therefore God did it!"

You do not understand evolution, you do not understand abiogenesis, you do not understand the Big Bang. The problem with the God of the Gaps argument that you use is when others understand something that you do not it makes God look less and less likely as an answer to anything.
