Ya ... blame the logic.

It wouldn't occur to them to go back to their drawing boards, would it?

In other words, it wouldn't occur to them that these "whole civilizations that were experiencing their golden ages of progress" just might be wrong, would it?

Of course not.

Not if they can blame it on logic.
Given that those civilizations left detailed evidence.

How about - "The Bible says it, so that settles it".
I'll accept that!

(BTW - never saw responses to some of my questions related to my last statement "The Bible says it..." from my previous post. Perhaps I missed it)
I'm sorry. Did I miss a question from you directed at me?

Well if the land rises, I only see two options, the water runs a different way, or it goes underground.
So you don't know about erosion.
And why not? Its only a well documented process

I must say, this is the most ridiculous argument for god's existence I've ever seen -
Maybe you need to catch up on the conversation, sir.

I'm trying desperately to keep God out of this conversation, and can't seem to do it.

And I know why too.

Yes, I concur. Have you looked at the evidence, studied it? If you compare it to any evidence that might (and is a very big miiiigggghhhhttt) relate to it from the Bible, there is no comparison (in favor of these civilizations older than 6000 years ago).

Don't have to, you made the statements about calendars. That is enough

Then geologists would announce that they had found a global flood layer.
They would announce that this layer was deposited world wide, even as whole civilizations were experiencing golden ages of progress, culture, art, and law.
They would declare that the evidence baffles them, since it contradicts all the other evidence.
And they would agree that logic itself no longer works.

Your opinion and $1.50 will buy a cup of takeout coffee

How would Satan use a global flood layer to his advantage?

Of?

???
So pure nonsense then. Ok

And with logic gone, what's next? Cause and effect,
already gone with the "flood". And as things
continue to spin out of control, the law of
the land will be gone, the law of averages inoperative,
down to the law of tenfold return.

Descent into the Void.

Ok... who is the "she" you are invoking?
You've always seemed to have trouble with pronouns, haven't you, Dan.

Who were we talking about?

I'll make it multiple choice:
  1. Cousin Pearl
  2. Antie Em
  3. Mother Earth

Why do you need clarification?
To know what year it is.

If you ask me what year it is ... or any 2nd grader ... you'd get 2021 without hesitation.
Not in India. Not in China, or Japan. Not in Iran, where there are TWO calendars being used. Not among the Maya, or the Inca.
Try again

But take God out of the picture, and even adults won't tell me what year it is.
Tell me who's calendar we are using, and I can tell you EXACTLY what year it is.

(But to their credit, I suspect they've never thought about it before; and even if they did, they wouldn't be able to come up with a consensus.)
Adult here. Name a culture.

Sorry. I don't believe that at all.

I think the idea that it is 2021 is a universal fact.

Not since I was about 2 years old. Why?

Who were we talking about?
How should I know? You refuse to tell me.

I'll make it multiple choice:
So kinda like the Joker then. Do I need to ask Commissioner Gordon to fire up the Bat Signal?

  1. Cousin Pearl
  2. Antie Em
  3. Mother Earth
Only 3 options?
Why not add Grendel's Mother?
And Sister Mercy?
Or better yet, Do what honest people do. PROVIDE A NAME!

Are you going to run away with your Earth then, when your Earth runs away from its Creator?

I suspect it's going to leave you in the dust.
In looking out to the cosmos and what God has Created and what it's doing, I suspect the Earth will last long past the Human experience and any Sacred Scripture that we rely on.

Well if the land rises, I only see two options, the water runs a different way, or it goes underground.

Typical creationist binary thinking.
Either or, two possibilities, none other.

A little knowledge of geology would tell you a river may
cur a deeper channel, or up build up a higher channel.
Or stay stable.

And that a river cutting down faster than the land is rising
actually will not have to flow uphill!

This conversation is now past its shelf life.

Only one person (Post 2025) gave me the kind of answer I was looking for.

The rest want to talk my question to death under the pretense of needing clarification (aka, acting dumb), as I suspected.

I'm through with this.

I'm just sorry I couldn't make it into a challenge thread and have it remain here.
