Isn't it just as arrogant for you to assume that just because it's the Christian view, that it's arrogant?

If you are a Christian, you get to go to heaven.

That's not a " Iwas baptized into the church as a baby and I'm a christian" Christian.

That's not a "My mama and daddy took me to church christian " Christian.

That's not a "I treat everybody the way I want to be treated and follow the golden rule and do good deeds christian" Christian.

It's a "washed in the blood of Jesus Christ and born again Christian" Christian.

I took "saved" to mean as just believing in Jesus.
I do think it's arrogant of someone to think that they are entitled to heaven just because they are christian no matter what else they do, and that everyone else, like Jews, Muslims, Budist, etc, is just going straight to hell.
So I'm referring to the mentality that a person...maybe like a priest that molests children, thinks that he's entitled to heaven just because he was "saved" and believed in Jesus. That no matter how many lives he ruins, he's still going to heaven...That is the kind of reasoning that I saw as arrogant.

I dont think I am being arrogant in calling an exclusive "everyone goes to hell except for xians no matter how much harm they may do" mentality arrogant.

I believe in God, but not in a celestial heaven or hell. Heaven and hell are both on this earth, coexisting seamlessly - largely due to individual perceptions. As a Deist - the time I spend on this earth is the only time I have - period. How beautiful or painful it is is equally decided by my circumstances and my attitude about my circumstances.

My pastor said this a couple of weeks ago and I just thought I'd share it because I think it's true. I'm also curious to what your opinions are, since I know there are a lot of atheists here.

Whatever I choose it to be.

I, personally, refuse to die without seeing Tibet.

I'd like to have some experiences, and see some stuff, and be a good Girl Scout and leave the place better than I found it.

Perhaps I'll invent something grand as well. I've got, oh say, sixty-ish more years to play with, we'll see.
