Something I’ve been confused about, it seems Jesus is here to save us from God? He is the only one who can send ppl to hell. I don’t get it. Or is it the devil? But God can control the devil? Help me make sense of this. Please.

He is saving mankind from the punishment mankind will face for its rebellion against God. Cease the rebellion, accept the sacrifice of Christ to cover your past transgressions, and live according to God's commandments. If you endure in that to the end, you will be rewarded.

Basically saving you from yourself. We are in the flesh and from the beginning , through Adam and Eve, sin separated us from having a relationship with our Father, His Holy Spirit departed from them. They fell from grace. We now have an Advocate with the Father who restored the Holy Spirit to any and all who love Him. Those who love Him make Jesus Christ of Nazareth their King. He is the King of the Kingdom of God. No one goes to the Father and His Kingdom unless they belive in His son. Those who do not believe suffer the "second death". So in conclusion, we are saved from the second death .
Blessings.

Jesus saves the believer from God's wrath.

God is Holy, and He is angry at us for sinning. This anger is fully justified, for God is just and He cannot be unjust. But God in His mercy sent His Son, that whoever believes in Him will be saved.

We are saved freely, but God cannot leave any sin unpunished, therefor for God to be just in forgiving us, He punished His Son for our sin. Lord Jesus paid the full price for every sin of the believer on the cross (God knows them all as He is outside of time and for Him everything is present).

Once humanity sinned, we became cursed. Jesus took this curse on Himself. Also wages of sin is death, so God provided perfect substitute in His Son, who bore our sins, even though He was without sin, and took them all to the cross, and every believer's sin died on the cross. But because the sinless Jesus died on the cross, the punishment of death was invalid, and God raised Him from the dead as He will do with every believer in Christ.

So Jesus suffered what belonged to us, the sinners, God's just wrath. That's what we are saved from.

So hell is not real ?
Hell is real. It is the place where every sinner is permanently separated from God. Sin separates from God, as He is holy and He cannot stand sin. Every sin must be paid for, so sinners in hell will pay for sin permanently and will suffer from God's wrath. This is what Jesus saves from.

sacrifice of Christ to cover your past transgressions
Jesus saves from believer's every sin, past, present & future. The moment Jesus tells a sinner, 'I forgive you, you are mine' the sinner becomes justified.

Jesus came to 1. take away the sin of the world (which He did) 2. Jesus is offering to any person God's free gift of Eternal Life (The Life of God) so that those people who believe in Jesus. May spend eternity with God living in the new earth God will create.

If people want to see this as saving people fine, but a more accurate way to see this is that Jesus came to offer people life (Eternal).

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Well you see in the beginning there was only God and Jesus

No sin or death

But for some reason they decided to create Lucifer/Satan and have Jesus die

And let's be honest the idea that humanity rebelled against God is stupid. Not only is there no indication of that in the text but it would be a dumb rebellion that involved coming here to suffer and die. Boy we sure showed God

Thank you the response, that explains it well.

Hello Newway, first off, since I see that you're still pretty new around here, WELCOME TO CF

As far as your question in the OP goes, yes, the Lord Jesus came here to save us from many things, including God's wrath. What this means is that ~we are saved from God, by God, for God.~ IOW, He died to save His and His Father's "enemies" (us), to atone for our sins and reconcile us with His Father.

This little passage has a lot to say about all of this.

Romans 5
8 God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

God bless you!!

--David

Interesting that no one has addressed the fact that it is completely irrational to create Satan and have billions die, including Jesus, because of this one angel
Humanity had a choice to obey God, but they chose not to. Hence consequences.

When a human commits a crime, he/she is sent to jail, and no one complaints because it is just. But when we sin against God we expect God will do nothing? It is not surprising God allows evil, it is a surprise He allows good.

And despite all of our sin, He judges no one, because He desires all come to Him and have eternal life. But one day, the day of judgement will come.

You see, if a leader on Earth says obey or die, we call him a tyrant
God created us, so He has every right to tell us what to do, and it is our duty to obey.

So I reject this idea that God is so obsessed with obedience that anyone who does not do what he says, at any point, does
Well if you disobey God, you are making yourself a gof because you are saying you know better than Him.

Furthemore, you reject God, but expect Him to accept you?

to understand what we are being saved from you will first need to cast aside all the theologies and doctrines of men you presently hold to ...
