I figured I was going to get canned for a misunderstanding but it didn't happen. Instead I got an offer for more work. God is beautiful in his ways on one hand and horrible in his wrath on the other. I guess God is fond of using the carrot and the stick.

Because He wants to show you that He loves you. He just wants you to trust Him.
He doesn't carry a big stick anymore because the veil in the Temple over 2000 years ago was torn in two from the top to the bottom.
Doesn't get any better than that.

God will always open new doors for those who follow Him. God will always take care of His Children and if we all just Trust Him that He will, it will always be done. If we fall away, we lose everything, if we keep close we have everything. God Bless.

I'm glad God had mercy on you and worked things out when you least expected it.
I can't tell you the number of times God has let trials go on and on until it seemed all hope was lost and then worked things out better than I could have hoped for. I think He lets us get to the point that we realize He's the only One who can resolve the current problem. It definately helps build faith.

You are wrong, The Father in Heaven does not use a carrot and stick.

Restless mind, peaceful soul.
I don't believe that we actually feel God's wrath while on Earth. We go through many trials, but those are more like phases of our life that help to shape our sanctification and walk with God. Romans 5 tells us that suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope. Imagine how much weaker we'd be if we weren't shaped and tested with life's difficulties. God's true wrath is reserved for those who choose to be judged by their own righteousness, and is spared for those who accept the righteousness of Jesus as our own through His grace.
