  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

If the unsaved are currently "dead" (yet physically living as we know it) and resurrected for the Judgement why is it so hard to believe that they'll experience a second death (casting away from God), yet be aware of it for eternity?
1) scripture does not say that
2) it's against God's character
3) it's against everything God teaches us to be like.

This is primarily why I believe the Bible when it not only tells me there is everlasting Life, but everlasting damnation.

I believe God is just to eternally punish
  1. Then you believe God wants us to be like Him, like His Son, Jesus Christ.
  2. That we are not to be forgiving.
  3. That we are to seek wrath and vengeance upon those who do not accept us.
  4. That we are to seek their unending torment because once a long time ago they said something unkind to us or did not offer us a glass of lemonade on a hot day.
  5. That there is to be no end to our wrath.
  6. That the sun should always go down on our anger and arise on it all the more.
  7. Surely we are to emulate God in all things everywhere all the time.
  8. So if God is going to act unforgiving and vengeful to aborigines of 3 and 4 thousand years ago who never heard of God or His Son then we should act at least the same to suicide bombers, Taliban, Al A|Quaeda, radical Islamist, illegal Mexicans, emplyers who get rich on minimum wage 2 legged forklifts as they break their backs thanklessly, surely we're not supposed to threat THOSE kinds of employers as though they were Jesus!

You can twist Scripture all you want as you do here:

Where you substitute "soul" for "memory". <edit>

You misquoted me and therefore misrepresented me. Here is what I quoted from Scripture:

Mt 10:28And be not afraid of those who kill the body, but cannot kill the soul; but fear rather him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

It doesn't say "memories", it says "soul" and that it is distinct from the body. And it doesn't say "grave", but "hell" that is gehenna.

Ecclesiastes 9:5, "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten."

Scripture says when man dies God's breath of life returns to Him, the memories are lost and all that is left is dust. no life, no body ie soul, no memories, no immortality, no nada.

2 Corinthians 5:4, "For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life."

Don't put a question mark
where God put a period.

John 11:25, "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:"

How can the dead be resurrected if resurrection is only possible through Jesus and only for those in Christ?
Daniel 12:2 "And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt."

Resurrection is for all people, some to life and some to the second death. Eternal LIFE is only possible in Christ, eternal death is the only option without him.

You are in error in your statement here. Luke 9:30-31 "And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: (ie. Elijah) Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem." Clearly Moses and Elijah had not ceased to exist at the time of Christ. Also lets look at the words of the Lord in Matthew 22:31-32 "But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living."

Jesus' words trump your understanding of Damiel's words.

Also, note, shame and contempt does not mean torment and fire.

Never good to put meanings and words into God's mouth He did not say.

death in this context does not mean to cease to exist..for that would negate eternal punishment and limit Gods justice

Oh? Since when does dead not mean dead as in lifeless, as in the only life sustaining force ie God's breath of life being missing not mean death? Where does God say there is more than one definition of death? For that matter, where does Webster say it? Dead is dead.

Jesus is the ONLY source for life and resurrection to life.

John 11:25, "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:"

How can the dead be resurrected if resurrection is only possible through Jesus and only for those in Christ?

People that say hell doesn't exist are
Only fooling themselves if you ask me.

Jesus NEVER spoke the word hell, in fact, no one in the bible, including God, Himself, ever spoke or wrote the word hell.

The word hell is an English word that was not coined until the Middle Ages. England did not even exist at the time of the Old and New Testaments.

Hell is a Pagan word.

God said we are to have nothing to do with pagans, their ways or their beliefs.

Jesus said He is the ONLY source of life AND resurrection.

John 11:25, "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:"

How can the dead be resurrected if resurrection is only possible through Jesus and only for those in Christ?

Wow . To bad your not right.

God is always right!

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became A living soul.

John 11:25, "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:"

How can the dead be resurrected since resurrection is only possible through Jesus and only for those in Christ?

Your right, God is always right. The thing is God says there is eternal punishment for the nonchristian. As I have mentioned I don't like thinking about family being there but I know it is a reality. I do find your passion for this topic interesting and wonder what is your driving motivator for your actions.
