About to go run various errands, mostly to do with the fact that my bishop has decided that tomorrow (on my notional day off) I can go run a planning workshop with a bunch of church leaders. (It's nice to be asked, but the timing could be better).

So because church planning never happens without things like exorbitant quantities of butchers' paper, blutack, and the like, I'd better make sure I'm well stocked...

Sounds exciting.

It is seriously nice to be asked to do something at that level. I'm just tired... (I have a week's leave coming up, and I really need it).

Anyway. So. On my mind right now - what to have for lunch?

What kind of fish do you eat in Australia?

Have you autumn now?

I have been there twice but it was years ago, I cannot remember that much.

Personally, I don't eat a lot of fish. I don't like it much, and it's expensive, so I leave it to people who really enjoy it.

But tuna, salmon, flake (shark meat), as well as shellfish (prawns in particular) are all popular.

It's early autumn, I guess, but it still feels like summer. It doesn't tend to really cool down until sometime in March, usually. We're still going to have temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius (86 Fahrenheit) for most of this week where I am.

Where did you visit while you were here?

Well it was some time ago, I was at sea, so we went wherever there was a cargo.

First time we started at Port Alfred and went through the barrier reef
to Sydney.

Over to Tasmania and back again and round to Melbourne.

We stopped at some places but I cannot recall their names.

Second time, much the same but I think direct to Sydney, first stop.

First time out through Suez, second time we came from Canada and out through Panama.

Thought it was a strange land, neither one or the other, so to speak,

I asked about fish because I remember buying some in a fish and chip shop, but have no idea what kind it was.

Do you mean the landscape, or the people and culture?

I know my parents found both difficult to get used to, in their early days here!

Probably flake. That tends to be the go-to staple in most fish and chip shops. I'm afraid it's not kosher. :(

So, what did you have for lunch?

Chicken and leek pie. It was in the freezer, so it was an easy choice. :)

And now, time for some singing practice. Easter is coming, and will make demands on my competence in liturgical chant. :)

OK, nice chatting,

(I thought there was something off with the fish.:) )

I hope you post your chant as you did last year. :)

Thanks, Michie. I wasn't planning to record it this year - last year I did because we were in lockdown, so there were no services. But maybe I should give it a go, at least. :)

I've only just woken up, so there is not much on my mind yet today. I am not a morning person!

It takes me a bit to acclimate to mornings as well. I don’t drink caffeine and that does not help.

I find it interesting that despite slipping on my diet this last week I've lost a few pounds. Right now I am about 148. Which is in the normal healthy range according to my BMI (but anything above 149 isn't..). Still have some fat I want to get rid of. My goal is 140 to possibly 135.

Just got a Hulu/HBO Max extension. The quality of content is much better than Netflix.

Started watching The Sopranos. Really loving it thus far. Tried Game Of Thrones.. but I just really hate medieval fantasy settings.

Wish I could say I'm really loving something just now.

Wonder what is taking Moshiach so long,

all end time predictions have passed,
