I remember learning, long ago in school, that plants have three directions of growth; towards light, towards water, and against the direction of gravity. So maybe they are reaching away, rather than towards, in this case?
Thanks paidiske,

Was thinking that us being two legged, to stand and walk upright before the King of the universe.

As you say, gravity will pull us down. however faith is the roots the deeper the roots the better chance to withstand.

I am going to try and find a song that I would say mirrors my faith, in here and now and hereafter.

Yep, I wondered why the past week while on a bus I noticed trees

like I never noticed or thought about earlier.

Just checked out an article based on the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.

based on"Man is a tree of the field." Deuteronomy 20:19.

Long article, here a little............,as a tree has roots, body/trunk, branches that bear fruit
so too the spiritual life of man also includes roots, branches and leaves are the body,

the body of our spiritual lives.

Though the verse asks a question, "Is man a tree of the field"

nevertheless, any anology will limp if kicked hard enough.

I have had similar thoughts about Jesus' teaching about the church community as a vine. And a vine has roots, branches, leaves, and growing tips.

The Magic School Bus is blasphemous. It mixes magic with science.
Saw it with the kids; came to the conclusion that if they hadn't needed Ms. Frizzle to drive, they should have left her in whatever predicament she got them into.

Lol, yeah. She should have been investigated and charged with multiple incidents of child endangerment. Although I guess she and/or the bus is magical so they were never in any real danger.. still.. she always seemed to get a kick when the kids were scared for their lives.

I did love the show as a kid. Although I do remember some of the episodes being actually intense and scary to watch as a kid. The voice of Ms. Frizzle visited my school once, sadly I think I was sick that day but my sister got to meet her. I was so jealous.
