What is Abyss in NT symbolizing?

What are others views of what the "abyss" in the NT. It is only mentioned 9 times that I can see and is only mentioned in Luke of the Gospels and Romans of the Epistles. Thanks.

Luke 8:31 And they are *entreating Him that no He should be enjoining to them into the abyss/abusson <12> to be coming away.

Romans 10:7 Or any should be descending into the abyss/abusson <12> this is Christ out of dead-ones to be up-leading.

The word "well" is used 7 times in the NT, Luke, John and 4 times in Revelation, all in Chapt 9:1,2.

John 4:11 Is saying to Him, the woman "Lord! not a bucket Thou are having and the well/frear <5421> is deep/baqu <901>, whence then Thou are having the water, the living?
