What Is A Seven Day Adventist?

If your donkey fell into a hole in the ground, would you wait until monday to pull him out?

Nope, I sure wouldn't wait, because that same basic scenario is brought up in scripture and we're told to get the ox out of the ditch.

Emergencies will come up, and our Savior told us to tend to those.

My parents seem to think they're my ox in the ditch on a weekly basis. :)

The spirit of the sabbath commandment is to do only what's necessary on the 7th day. For all other non-essential taskes, they can wait til the other six days. Because the 7th day sabbath is a holy day to commune with the Lord.

You can worship on all 7 days of the week. But one day of the week on Sabbath, God commands us to rest from ALL secular works.

 Where does it say that Jesus was a Baptist? from the scripture? exactly where?

Jesus kept all the requirement of the law that including the sabbath commandment.

Also here is what Baptist church says officially about sabbath.

"We Believe that the law of God is the eternal and imperishable rule of His moral government." Baptist Church Manual

"The first four commandments set forth man's obligations directly toward God...The fourth commandment sets forth God's claim on man's time and thought...Not one of the Ten Words (the 10 Commandments) is of merely racial significance...The Sabbath was established originally (long before Moses) in no special connection with the Hebrews, but as an institution for all mankind, in commemoration of God's rest after six days of creation. It was designed for all the descendants of Adam." Adult Quarterly, Southern Baptist Convention series, Aug. 15, 1937

"There was and is a commandment to keep holy the Sabbath day, but that Sabbath was not Sunday. Earnestly desiring information on this subject, which I have studied for many years, I ask, where can the record of such a transaction be found? Not in the New Testament; absolutely not. There is no Scriptural evidence of the change of the Sabbath institution from the seventh to the first day of the week ... Of course, I quite well know that Sunday did come into use in early Christian history as a religious day. But what a pity that it comes branded with the mark of paganism and christened with the name of the sun god, when adopted and sanctioned by the papal apostasy, and bequeathed as a sacred legacy to Protestantism." " Dr. Edward T. Hiscox, author of The Baptist Manual in a paper read before New York ministers' conference held Nov. 13, 1893

I didn't say that did I? Where in the bible does it say that??:sorry:

Who mentioned Jesus as a Baptist in the first place? You did.

Jesus baptized with the Holy Spirit. Is that what you're asking?

I'm confused.

Matthew 12:12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

You can't be lawful and disobey the law at the same time.

Jesus kept the Sabbath.

The Pharisees didn't think He did, and they sought to kill Him for it, because He healed on the Sabbath day. They (the Pharisees) considered that work, but Jesus wasn't doing carpentry....He was performing the work of the Father.

What seems to be the problem here? I "said" from the bible. In answer to your question, am I a Baptist? I am a disciple of Christ..

Your icon says you are a baptist. That's why I gave you the official baptist stance on the sabbath issue to save you some trouble to ask us.

Did Jesus keep the sabbath? The scriptures say He did. Let us know if anything else we can provide you.

There seems to be two issues in this thread we should all look at. One more important than the other, mind.

1. Everready, at first you asked your question with seemingly open intentions and honest enquiry. But it seems now you are here to debate. Which is it?

2. If Everready really is coming to ask about the Seventh-day Adventists, why are certain Adventists questioning the most basic of our beliefs, in the very same thread? I thought this problem was addressed in the wiki process? Thecountrydoc and MVA's post was adequate, I don't see the necessity to turn every single thing into a debate, especially in front of newcomers.

Stormy, I'm looking at you. Let's try and keep the unity:pray:

I went to a Pastor because I had a very serious problem. Do you know what he said? He told me unless I was a member of his church I would not get any help from him..
All I want is for fellowship with real bible believing Christians. Ones that love my Saviour as much as I do.
What has become of all of these churches?

You went to a Seventh-day Adventist pastor and he told you that you had to be a member to get any help?

You have to realize everready that we aren't him. We answered you honestly and you debated with us. I do not like typing just for the sake of typing and if someone asks me a question I give it my consideration and my time.

Are you here to debate or do you want to learn about why we keep the Sabbath?
