What Is A Seven Day Adventist?

There seems to be two issues in this thread we should all look at. One more important than the other, mind.

1. Everready, at first you asked your question with seemingly open intentions and honest enquiry. But it seems now you are here to debate. Which is it?

2. If Everready really is coming to ask about the Seventh-day Adventists, why are certain Adventists questioning the most basic of our beliefs, in the very same thread? I thought this problem was addressed in the wiki process? Thecountrydoc and MVA's post was adequate, I don't see the necessity to turn every single thing into a debate, especially in front of newcomers.

Stormy, I'm looking at you. Let's try and keep the unity:pray:

Jon

Yes Jon, when the new rules are implemented, this will not be allowed to occur anymore. Bring 'em on already!

You went to a Seventh-day Adventist pastor and he told you that you had to be a member to get any help?

You have to realize everready that we aren't him. We answered you honestly and you debated with us. I do not like typing just for the sake of typing and if someone asks me a question I give it my consideration and my time.

Are you here to debate or do you want to learn about why we keep the Sabbath?
Sure I want to learn, who doesn't? But why that day of all days?;)

It's the seventh day. The only day that God sanctified and hallowed.

He said it is a sign between Him and His people (that's US). It's a day to remember creation and our Creator.

It's the blessing commandment.

You know, it's easy NOT to kill someone and NOT to commit adultery (it's easy for me anyway :)), but the Sabbath requires giving up worldly things one day a week, and that isn't always an easy thing to do....but once you get in the hang of it...it's very refreshing.

It's a wonderful blessing to have one day a week with the Creator.

Jesus is our example and He fought very hard against the Pharisee's accusations that He was breaking the commandment.

He fought to keep their manmade burdens away from God's holy day which really is meant to be a blessing to God's people.

Hi once again Everyready,

It would seem that there are those who would rather argue amoungest themselve than to answer a guest's questions. For those forum members I apologize for their rudeness.

Your last question:
Sure I want to learn, who doesn't? But why that day of all days?;)
Your question is more than a fair question, and I will be more than happy to give you a very through explination. It is a question however that has several componnts that need to be understood in order to answer you completely. The answers all come directly from the Bible, but it will take more than just a couple of paragraphs to give you the refferences and fully explain both the text and the biblical principals involved so that you can see for yourself if it all makes sense to you. After all you're the only that will count when ask if I gave you a good answer or not. As I said in my first response to you're original question, I'll be more than happy to answer any and all qustions you may have.

If you are willing to give an old guy a little time, I will methodicaly walk you through the shortest explaination I can give to answer; "But why that day of all days?"

Just come on back and let me know. We'll just ignore those that want to but-in just to argue. I look forward to hearing from you again.

Respectfully, your brother in Christ,
Doc

I understand. But to me everyday is like that. No t.v. no radio, no newspaper. Only Praising my Saviour all day long. I serve him as an evangelist, that means "everybody" I meet, without exception. Can you say the same?

In this old world if you don't have work left over you screwing up somewhere. Better time management?

My mom said that when my dad was driving home on Friday she could practically see all the stress come out and he'd unwind. That place was so quiet I spent an hour trying to find out which pump could possibly be running at that hour of the day--it was my heart!

Everyone I meet knows that I am a Christian and that I believe in the ultimate sacrifice of my Lord Jesus Christ.

It's not something I stand up and shout in my classes, but if anyone walks with me over to the student center or just out the parking lot....they know.

There's a couple of Jehovah's Witnesses that probably won't come to my house anymore because I invited them in. I showed them absolute love and hospitality, but I also showed them scripture about why I'm an Adventist and keep the Sabbath. :)

The "ladies"(!) can be just as quilty as the guys. And I really have to have a long talk with their boyfriends when their girlfriend does pelvic thrusts in the front seat of the car as they are passing by and yell "woo-woo." I was old enough to be her father for pete's sake!

Yes Everyready, I can say the same!

Now I'll reask the question; Would like to take your orginal question as well as "But why that day of all days?" and get a Bible answer for them? If you do then you need to let me answer one question at a time. Once those are answered hen we can anwer other questions one at a time.

Getting answers from the Bible is somewhat like getting information out of an encyclopedia. You have to cover the subject before you turn the page.

I await your answer.

He doesn't have that kind of question for you. He asked: "Would like to take your orginal question as well as "But why that day of all days?" and get a Bible answer for them?"

Sir, I have no questions. You stoped by this forum and ask a question; "What is a Seventh-day Adventist?" To which I gave a short but accuret answer. You then ask a plethora of different questions that were a bit off topic. Your last question is contained in my last response to your last question.

It will take more than 37 years of random Bible reading to answer your questions if you won't stop to listen to the answers that have alredy been given to you.

Doc
