What is a Dominionist ?

This word came up in another forum. I am not Calvinist so I might need things simplified a little for me. But my question is what is a Dominionist ?
The reason I posted this thread in this forum is the gogole search I did mentioned that it is a Calvinist idea. Recontructionism was a word assoiciated with it.

I believe the main proponent of dominion theology is Rushdoony. Do a google search on him. I know that dominion theology stesses the law and is postmil in its view.

For the record -- dominion theology and reconstructionism are at once broader than Calvinism, and rejected by numerous Calvinistic denominations. Many of the theological proponents were ousted from the Calvinistic denominations in Presbyterianism.
