  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you you turn to Gen 6:6-7 you will see what Christ REPENT of !!

It was to fufill all righteousness.

Once a covenant is established with an oath he will not repent of it. It will be done. No adding or subtracting.

Heb 6:17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

To fulfill the work only he could do, which no man had done, in promise to our father Abraham. God is faithful.
1 Chron 16: 14 He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
15 Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;
16 Even of the covenant which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;
17 And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,

Ps 105:6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
7 He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
8 ¶ He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
9 Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

A covenant of mercy
De 4:31 (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

De 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
De 7:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:

Mal 3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.
2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap:
3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.
4 Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.

I already did that. John's baptism was for repentance and confession of Sin to escape God's wrath coming upon Israel.........
But you kept going into baptism after the new covenant...
Blessings to you

The new covenant was both for Isreal, and for Gentiles
Israel first, wrath was coming on that nation by the law. John's baptism concerned that. Wrath, and the curse was coming to pass by the law. Therefore Jew first.
Gentiles were being brought into the covenant, as well, in promise To Abraham, just like Jews had been. Jew's were saved from the curse in Christ, and Gentiles were saved as well by bringing them into the same promise. The covenant made in Genesis 17 concerns all nations. The carnal command is disannulled in Christ. Genealogy as well as circumcision, foods etc. The fleshly elements no longer separate anyone anymore. Whether royalty, priesthood, or being heirs.
That same disannulling of fleshly commands is what made Priesthood apart from genealogy, royalty as well. It also became the same for all men. To Abraham. and all his seed promised to him.
To put it another way, if the fleshy commands apply, then any application of priesthood is nullified for Messianic Jew's. However if the fleshly commands are nullified in Christ, they apply to none including non Jew's.

Baptism had or has the same significance that it did or does wash away the old so to speak. It's the physical manifestation of your repentance. Wash away the old and start the new. Without that, we come to God filthy with sin. Wash it away and take his hand.

John's baptism is distinct from Christs baptism. For those under the law to escape the wrath which by the law. That wrath was coming upon them THEN, at that time (each in bis own time). According to the law...means as the law says....The law says Jew's first, then when they accept of their punishment of his wrath, He will again remember The Abrahamic covenant. He will then judge the nations according to how they TREATED ISRAEL.
The law divides things by FLESHY, WORDLY ELEMENTS, the new covenant disannuls those for Jew and Gentile, as it applies the spiritual Which the law of Moses cannot judge. We are all already dead, and no longer lives as fleshy.......

But isn't it to have a spiritual connection with God, one repents of their sins (which are washed away by the water which is god's grace, then we look to the spiritual. connection with God and live for him. Getting baptized isn't where the work stops, it's where it starts.

This is not replacement theology, it is COVENANT THEOLOGY.
It is About Abraham and what was Promised to HIM...........Where Israel after the flesh recieves as well as Israel apart from the flesh receives.

Rom 9:6 ¶ Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

We who are in Christ all are SEED of promise, not just Children of the flesh only
Ga 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Ga 3:18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
Ga 3:29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Heb 13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Ge 17:6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
Ge 17:16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.

The oath made all the promises to Abraham immutable in offering Isaac.....
16 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

Genesis 22:16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

This seed is Christ Jesus. This covenant is the source of the new covenant blood in Christ....
If according to the Flesh, You have no priesthood, no priest but those which are by genealogy of Levi......You nullify your own priesthood in Christ, by denying his children of the nations by circumcision of the heart.

1. Grace has been by faith from the beginning, the law of faith.

Gen 15:13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.

Abraham will be dead.......with his fathers....Who are his fathers.

15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.

This covenant speaks concerning the fourth generation of his seed.......Abe, Isaac, Jacob, the 12 patriarchs will be dead......
16 But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.

Abraham right here knew he would inherit in the resurrection from the dead.......
The law of faith, Abraham's fathers he laid with in death...

4 ¶ By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

Genesis 17 they are all alive....to receive these promises themselves

Mt 8:11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
It is a promise to ALL in Christ Jesus.....
