What instruments do/did you play?

I bought an acoustic guitar last month and a book to go along with it.
The whole thing is greek. There are chords and frets and concepts of first finger at the second string of the first fret while the second finger is at the third string of the second fret and other similar impossibilities.
People who can play guitars are aliens.

No, it was kinda like a penny whistle except much longer and thicker and made of metal instead. Have no idea what it was called; neither did the bloke trying to sell it to us. But anyway, he backed out on the deal so, I never got to try it out! Boohoo!

Tin whistle, perhaps? I have a few of those.

Me too. The one I learned to play on would try to bite my fingers off, and the pedals liked to stamp on my feet.

What about you?

In the 7th grade I played the clarinet, and did pretty good at it, but never went beyond that.

In the past, I've tried to learn and failed to learn the following:

• The lute
• The piano
• The harmonica
• The ocarina

You know...I actually have had a strong desire for the longest time to try to learn the bagpipe. The clarinet lessons might help, and I enjoy bagpipe music...

...maybe I should add that to my list of failed instruments...

I played trumpet in high school. I was excellent at reading the music and fingering the notes, but I was always playing flat because I could not keep enough air moving through the horn.

My problems are that 1) my hands are tiny 2) I have long nails and hate cutting them unless I have to (they're not super long, but long enough to make guitar-playing difficult) and 3) I can't ever keep the thing in tune.

there are easier ways to play the bag pipes.
obtain a cat
hold it upside down
pull the lags apart
