Well, mine comes partially from my first name and the nickname my wife likes to call me.

When I was younger my friends called me 'hootie' or just 'hoot' since I used to collect things having to do with owls.... But, I no longer do that.

Then, I have a friend who still calls me 'Sarge'....

Yes, you're right about that! My friend is one of the few that still see me in my 'younger' days when I was a Sergeant in the Marines. We crossed paths a couple of times but, never knew each other. Turned out our mutual hobby brought us together in an internet forum about 4 years ago and it is that on-line friendship that has continued.

Besides, you can probably still 'fit' in YOUR uniform... Mine have gotten considerably smaller....
