Salaam all,
last time i checked, Allah will forgive what He chooses to. the only thing that is stated that He will not forgive is associating other Gods with Allah.
well.. i'm set, then. i don't have any God besides Allah... of course, by the same token, Allah is not above any God either... in our view, Gods are, by and large, equal.. which is one of the reasons why they aren't venerated or propriated in the Buddha Dharma.
as it turns out..i asked myself this question some 20 odd years ago now... and, to my great surprise, i turned out to be wrong in my initial religous path... which was the Protestant Christian path. from there, i went to Islam.. my personal history would tie all of these things together... but.. that's for another time.
in any event.. i suppose that God or god or what have you, convinced me that i was "wrong" about both of those paths... at which point, my spiritual pursuit became something of a quest... perhaps even to a negative sense that i would neglect other duties of mine to discuss religion and to practice. after many moons of searching, i've found a religous praxis that doesn't seem "wrong" and i've put it into practice.
that.. and the wonderful challenge to the seeker to test the Buddhas teachings for themselves to see if they are correct... if they aren't don't practice them.. if they are, then uphold them and live up to them.
my experiments have been successful with the teachings that i've tested thus far, and as such, i will continue.
