sbg, you have taken most of what I have said and trying to twist it. I have no stomach for it. I do not need your condemnation or your mind-reading judgements. Let's just say that you are right and I'm wrong and move on. Go talk to a wall and see what the rest of us are dealing with in trying to converse with you.
you know, I remember you coming in early and telling people here they needed to calm down and treat people with respect. I respected you for that. Perhaps you've spent too much time around here. You're not the same, likable fella you were then, even when I disagreed with you, you were much more pleasant, you didn't put words in other people's mouths, and you sought peace.
God bless. Good night.

I have not twisted anything you have said. I have asked you questions and used those questions to say I was attacking you.

And I can appreciate your attempt to make me feel guilty about standing up for what I believe against people who are deceptive on this forum.

If you have no respect me, dislike me, or whatever you choose to feel, I am ok with that.

This is odd that we cannot have a conversation for more than a few posts. You have quickly turned this into me persecuting you, well done. I have tried to be honest and fair by posting on what you have said. You have taken offense to my asking you questions. SHould I not ask you anything?

If you feel you cannot converse with me without getting upset, then it is best that we don't converse.

You take care and may God Bless you!

If you reject Genesis as being literally historical, then you have returned to Genesis with disdain. If you think that is good for your soul and the way God meant it to be, then well... good for you. It isn't the position the Apostles and early Church Fathers taught.

And thank you Remus. I figured since Vance changed his signature to misrepresent Augustine...again, I would counter with what Augustine concluded with.

I have asked this question before and got some very interesting answers, but since we have a lot of new YEC's here, I thought I would ask it again. This is a question specifically for Creationists, either old or young.

If you found out tomorrow, in a way that left NO DOUBT whatsoever, that the earth was billions of years old and that all the species on earth, including Man, evolved from a common ancestor, how would that effect your view of Scripture? How would it effect your faith?

I would properly Kill myself not stright away first i would start fully forfilling my fleshs desires then when time got hard or i felt depressed then i would kill myself, because then i would know that there is know reason for liveing, As God is my only reason, when push comes to shave. And to hold to that idea i would have to deny the existance of God.

Yes, thanks for keeping it bumped up, it is truly essential for everyone to see that it is the extreme YEC's, not the TE's, who are saying that if God didn't create a certain way, Scripture is false.

I, as one TE, stand firm and unmoving on the statement that Scripture is true, holy and inerrant in its message to us. It is true, no matter HOW God created or WHEN He created.

This thread shows that, despite the claims of some YEC's, many YEC's do, indeed, treat the YEC/TE issue as a salvation issue, with all the dangers that such a treatment brings with it. YEC's can assert all day long that this is NOT a YEC positition, but this post shows that for many YEC's, it is indeed a YEC position.

Antman, what career are you in or what career are you planning to take up? Because if you take up anything related to biology or geology you will inevitably be faced without escape with evidence for evolution. What then? How long would you last living evolution in the lab and singing YECism in the church?

That was the exact crisis I faced earlier this year when I was faced with the evidence for evolution. How can Genesis be true and my God still the God I know and love if this is so? ... it was easier for me because I already had experience whacking down fallacious arguments as a YECist, in the name of defending it, but it was still a shock. But if you are willing to be open, to step into the Asian concept of truth in legend, your faith can and will survive.

Or you can stick your head in the sand and say you don't know whenever you are asked about the origins. Your choice.

I don't know if you are a geologist or biologist, but your story is my story. Geology forced me to face the fact that the YEC position I held was not true.
