Let's start in the Bible.

Gabriel appearing to Mary for the annunciation of Christ.
The numerous apparitions of Christ in the New Testament.
The numerous visions/voices/other supernatural experiences the apostles and disciples had after the ascension.

I am assuming you will say these are of God. I'd like a better explanation than "it's in the Bible" though.

That is the function of angels, not departed humans.

Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?

But who is to say that God cannot use the souls of humans in heaven to send messages to man? It really isn't that far fetched. In fact i would go so far as to say that you and others are dismissing personal Marian apparitions simply because it sounds "too Catholic".

I don't like these kind of arguments. We could equally say to you "But who is to say God WANTS to us humans in heaven to send messages to man?"

You see right now, we have only biblical evidence of God Himself or his Angels actually sending messages to man, not us.

No, because it sounds demonic.

2 Corinthians 11:14 tells us that Satan and his angels are able to disguise themselves as helpful spirits.

If Mary actually appeared to you, you'd rebuke her? Would you rebuke an angel?

Why would you think that Mary, and you don't say what could be Mary, would appear to if not because God wanted to reveal something to you?

Listen, one of the things that God has revealed to me that I have been called to do is to get people to understand that if you have been baptized and have the Spirit of God within, for Pete's sake, take advantage of it.

The Spirit of God is a gift, so don't be like the man in Luke 19 that didn't put to use the gold coins. Put the Spirit to use so that you can receive rich rewards, from God, for being many fruits. If we allow the Spirit to be our guide, we will not be fooled by what Satan brings at us.

Angels can even deliver a false gospel as per Gal 1, and 2 Cor 11. How do you know the "visitations" are not demons, and won't be used to deceive?

Lets face it, if tonight she appeared to most Catholics, they would all introject her words.

So would you rebuke an angel if one appeared to you? If you're going to follow that rather blunt definition you gave you would have to say yes. After all Satan can just as easily disguise himself as an angel.

God says not to talk to the departed.
Why no biblical accounts of it?

The answers that they would rebuke immediately is the same as "Shoot first ask questions later" but in all honesty, no spirit should be trusted right off the bat, rather treated with suspicion and testing, to ensure that "it" is of God.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. They are assuming it's demonic before testing to see if it is.

Well sure, we should test all. But angelic intervention is scriptural, where mary sightings are not.

My be polite to find out what her business is being here.
If she appeared to me it would already be a rebuke to her.

I appreciate your humility, but your reverence is the exact foothold that a demon would want you to have, to listen to the false angel. See what I mean, your already willing to just revere her on a reflex.

But the fact remains that not everything is in scripture. Add unto that the fact that Mary was alive while most, if not all, the NT was being written and the "there are no Marian apparitions in scripture" argument becomes a weak one.
