What if Germany had defeated the UK and the USSR during World War II? What if they had been the first to come up with the atomic bomb, forcing the US to capitulate?
What would have happened to Christianity?
We know that the Nazis were not Christian and were, in fact, opposed to Christianity. One of their objectives was to remove all explicit Jewish content from the Bible. This would have meant the removal of various material including the Old Testament and the Gospel of Matthew. Christianity would have been cleansed from any Jewish element and Jesus would have been turned into a proper Aryan, something the Nazis called "Positive Christianity."
Would the Church have prevailed? My answer is yes--Hitler couldn't conquer Jesus. But it makes for an interesting "what if"--what would have happened?
