I am interested in the relationship between human sin and nature. This interest is in part a consequence of discussions in the origins forum where I have argued that the book of nature is corrupted by sin and therefore reading the story of our origins in it is impossible.

1) Did the fall destroy the perfection of the natural world?

2) How does sin corrupt nature?

3) Are natural disasters due to the effects of human sin, the work of demons or the result of disruptions to nature caused by sin or direct judgments on sin?

4) Does our sin explain natural catastrophes elsewhere in the universe than planet Earth?

5) Would Mars have oceans ,no craters and even a proper atmosphere if humans had not sinned? Would the face of the moon be scarred were it not for sin?

6) If sin is the reason people no longer live really long lives why don't good people live longer than bad ones?

7) If the book of nature is corrupted is it that corruption that stops us reading the story of our origins or our own imperfection and finitude?

If you are just looking for a poll-type response, here is mine:

1) Did the fall destroy the perfection of the natural world?
No

2) How does sin corrupt nature?
Nature itself isn't corrupted, but man's sin can have a negative effect on nature.

3) Are natural disasters due to the effects of human sin, the work of demons or the result of disruptions to nature caused by sin or direct judgments on sin?
None, natural disaster is God's method of the planet renewing itself.

4) Does our sin explain natural catastrophes elsewhere in the universe than planet Earth?
N/A

5) Would Mars have oceans ,no craters and even a proper atmosphere if humans had not sinned? Would the face of the moon be scarred were it not for sin?
Yes, of course. Meteors and other space debris exist whether sin is manifest or not.

6) If sin is the reason people no longer live really long lives why don't good people live longer than bad ones?
Adam and subsequent generations lived pretty long lives despite the practice of sin.

7) If the book of nature is corrupted is it that corruption that stops us reading the story of our origins or our own imperfection and finitude?
Since I wasn't a part of previous discussion I'm not sure how to answer this particular question.
