First Corinthians Fifteen:
54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality,
then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 “O Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
As long as corruption exists in the World, sin will continue to inflict "the sting of Death".
Until the City of God descends to the earth, the power of darkness remains.
Only by remaining in Covenant with God in Christ can this be avoided in this life.
Psalm 74:20 Have respect unto the covenant;
For the dark places of the earth are full of the haunts of cruelty.
In order to redeem the elect, the Lord had to endure the humiliation of submitting to the Darkness.
Luke 22:53 When I was with you daily in the temple, you did not try to seize Me.
But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”
Thanks be to God that by Jesus we are not only saved eternally, but have deliverance in His Name.
Colossians 1:
13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
