I could have just expanded greatly in all this but.. I think you get/understand what I am getting at here. Do we say its ONLY if you believe John 3:16, Rom 10:9-10?

What I say next is not proof of anything.. just to me it is. When I was about 15 I asked Him "how can you send all these people to hell?" And He came right back with "For God so loved the world. Everyone gets a choice". How that happens I do not know. But I do know.. everyone gets a choice. I believe few will be lost vs most. Well who says most won't be saved? MAN.

Why do you think He said these signs shall follow them that believe? Because no other religions/gods can do that. So doubt started over time and look where we are today. For me without that...how is your God any different then the rest? Trust me these real questions.

Hi Blade nice to see you. Great question. As to your Jewish friends were they serious Jews or were they serious Jews mocking Jesus? I find it hard to believe if they were serious Jews that they had never heard of JESUS or Christianity but I could believe it if they were only Jews in name only and did not know their own religion and history.

According to the scriptures God only holds us accountable to what we know not what we do not know *Acts of the Apostles 17:30-31; James 4:17. Therefore if your friends never heard of Jesus or the Gospel they would not be held accountable to God for rejecting it. I believe that the scriptures teach that God has His people in every Church (including Israel) that are living up to all the knowledge that God has revealed to them *John 10:16.

In the days of JESUS and the Apostles their bible was the Old testament teaching of the Torah and the prophets (Hebrew bible). Jesus is revealed in these scriptures. In fact nearly everything we have in the new testamment scriptures come from the old testament. Together (the old and new testament scriptures) are the two great witnesses that make up the Word of God that point to Jesus and his work on our behalf and God's plan of salvation for mankind in the new covenant.

The hour is coming and now is that the "true worshippers" will worship God in Spirit and in truth. God is a Spirit and those who worship Him must worship him in Spirit and in truth *John 4:23-24. Everyone will have the chance to hear the Word of God. It is not until someone rejects the truth of God's Word that it becomes sin to that person and they are held accountable to God for their rejection of his Word (see Hebrew 10:26-27) abd they are judged for it on judgment day *John 12:47-48.

You're right, to say there's myriad Christian theologies is an understatement. I don't know of any churches that teach universal salvation, but I've been cast out from a few that don't. It has been noted by eminent scholars that universalism was the main soteriology/ eschatology of the early church. Gregory of Nyssa, Origen Adamantius and Clement of Alexandria were big name patristics who were all universalists.

Universalism/ restorationism can be a real challenge for those conditioned with the 'mindset' that only some (the elect) get saved and others (the many) are doomed. I feel blessed that I knew almost nothing of Christian doctrine at the time God opened the eyes and changed the heart.

God wants all mankind saved. He has the power to do it, through His righteous acts of grace and mercy. His enemies are spiritual, those forces that draw man away from Him, like sin the world and the devil. But He loves the world so as to send Jesus to save it from its own enslavement to sin and death. Sure, man has a choice, but fallen man will, like Israel, invariably choose unwisely. So a saviour is needed to free the slaves, liberate the captives, restore sight to the blind, raise the dead, heal the sick, make the lame walk...and so on. And what's more - his own people won't recognise him!

Jesus' mission is salvation. He is Salvation. The word of God is salvation. Jesus is the word made flesh. Salvation is the Omega plan, it's the destiny of all creation.

What does the Total Victory of Christ look like to you, Tim? Is it like a Roman triumph, where the vanquished kings and nations are forced to swear allegiance, waiting for a chance to rebel? Or is it greater, where the whole earth sees God's great and righteous works, the true gospel reveals the spirit, brings in faith, lifts the veil, and hearts and minds are transformed - every knee and every tongue, all sing in unison and eyes opened, 'give it up for God'!

Now that's a true and permanent victory - swords into plowshares, wolf lies down with lamb, rebellion overcome by love, death swallowed up in victory, trust and obedience given freely so as it was given us. All creatures loving Him as He loved us all first. Restored to His image. 'Behold', He says, 'I am making all things new'.

Doesn't mean it won't be a bitter pill to swallow for some. It could be the small scroll John eats in Rev 10:10 that tastes like honey but makes the stomach bitter. Those who refuse to repent through the Tribulation end up outside the ever-open Pearly Gates in the Lake of Fire, tormented in their evil mindsets, while the Spirit and the Bride encourage them, 'Come on, wash your robes in the lake and join us inside for the water of life, you're missing the good stuff!'

How long do you think they can hold out against full frontal assault of God's pure burning love presence that melts the heart and destroys the enemies, purifies the dross, burns away the tares? Who can stand? God has sworn an oath, remember. Even the Chief of Sinners was changed in a moment. Personally, I give the devil less than a week (noting time won't be the same in the new age when heaven and earth conjoin). So imagine that - when even the fallen angels repent in all truth and confess the name of Jesus! Dare to hope it may be so, my friend.

However, from your respective I'm wondering why you think Satan and one third of heavens angles were cast out of heaven for their rebellion. Why was Adam and Eve given a test of faith with regard to the forbidden tree? And why God would allow six thousand years of sin with all of it's unimaginable suffering on His creation, and in the end save everyone, those with faith, and those without faith? Why then is God allowing sin to rein from the time that He created the angles?

I don't think universalists would see any exceptional reasons for this. God casts out the enemies. But we believe ultimately the spiritual enemies are destroyed/ overcome, and all of fallen creation is restored to God's image.

Because God requires us to have faith in order to have a relationship with Him. And we believe all will eventually come to faith, whether in this life or the hereafter. Salvation and inheritance are not the same. There are many mansions.

He saves all by faith. The truth is that man's heart bears the manufacturer's name. Is this seen in John 9:3, when Jesus explains to the disciples why the man was born blind?

Jesus answered, "It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

Or at Calvary, from the depths of evil and blindness comes the greatest of all victories. This pattern is everywhere in the Bible. Only God can make something from nothing, and that inspires us with love faith and hope.

When the knowledge of God and His righteous acts is revealed to unbelievers through the gospel and the Spirit, the heart changes. I think this is our main point of difference. I can understand how you might think that God's enemies are flesh and blood, but I believe Jesus reveals that they are spiritual - the powers and principalities. So God takes aim at sin, death, the world etc. Why? Because He's saving creation from the disease that's infected it.

We've been over Hebrews 10 before and you don't want to accept that it refers back to Deut and Exodus passages which don't support your thesis. The reality is that the Jews to whom the message is addressed weren't giving up the assurance of heaven they got in Judaism for a risk of hell under Christianity. That's no way to persuade ppl to leave the old religion behind.

We must be reading a different bible. Mine says that the unrepentant wicked are destroyed with the second death in the lake of fire and do not enter into God's Kingdom or receive everlasting life. Proof is provided in over 87+ scriptures in the OP linked showing that the unrepentant wicked are destroyed and do not receive eternal life and do not enter into God's kingdom *1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Matthew 7:21; John 3:3-7; 1 John 3:6-10.

Your reply here is a good example of not applying context leading to false interpretation of scripture, but let me show why dear friend.

Earlier you were provided 87+ scriptures in the OP linked which all have context to the unrepentant wicked who are destroyed and do not receive eternal life and do not enter into God's kingdom *1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Matthew 7:21; John 3:3-7; 1 John 3:6-10. Then we have other supporting scripture already provided to you from 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Hebrews 10:26-31; Matthew 25:41-46; Revelation 21:7-8; John 3:36; Revelation 20:6; John 5:28-29 all of which provide context directly to the unrepentant wicked after the second coming.

We can even add the very words of Jesus when he tells us what will happen to the unrepentant wicked after the second coming when he uses the examples of when the unrepentant wicked world was destroyed by a flood and Sodom and Gomorah was destroyed by fire to show us what will happen to the unrepentant wicked who receive the second death (not eternal life) in the lake of fire *Revelation 21:7-8 because they reject the free gift of God's dear son and count the blood of the covenant an unholy thing *Hebrews 10:26-31.

Now we compare the above scriptures provided here, which is over 100+ scripture all with context to the fate of the unrepentant wicked and what happens to them after the second coming.

Yet in response you provide verbal refence to Romans 6 which is not in context to the unrepentant wicked after the second coming but to the saved righteous dieing to the old man in baptism and living in newness of life in Christ? Perhaps it is time to re-read Romans 6 again which is not talking about the unrepentant wicked but is in context to the Saint walking in newness of life with Christ and no longer practicing sin through faith in Christ. This is something that the wicked do not do and do not practice. The unrepentant wicked are unrepentant of their sins and do not walk in newness of life in baptism with Christ.

Not according to the scrpture. Your twisting them to make them say things they do not mean in isolation of context as shown earlier. According to God's Word not mine and as shown in the OP here the unrepentant wicked are destroyed in the second death in the lake of fire after the second resurrection. All things are made new for the Saints.

Hi Pat, I had a quick look but do not have time to read all through this. Simply though iniquity in the Hebrew means sin and sin is defined in the bible as breaking anyone of Gods' 10 commandments and also not believing and following Gods' Word *1 John 3:4; James 2:10-11; Romans 7:7; Romans 3:4; Romans 14:23. According to the scriptures, sin and repentance from sin is the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil *1 John 3:6-10; Revelation 12:17; Revelation 14:12; Revelation 22:14. What was your thoughts and what did you get out of reading that article?

Where does it say that the unrepentant wicked after the second coming will repent and believe and receive everlasting life (scripture please)? This would be a contradiction of over 100+ scriptures already provided stating that the unrepentant wicked receive the second death and are destroyed in the lake of fire. If you have no scripture how can you make these claims?
