thanks for letting us know what happened, sorry you've been the victim of a hacker.
I lurk much more than I post here, but I've still lost about 6 posts! lost a few pm's as well.
I missed CF a lot over the past week or so-keep up the good work

From what I know and can see missing in my stats and posts is that everything from the 28th of March to the time of CF going down on the 4th, everything is gone.
Just be thankfull the backup didn't go back further than the 27th. I know I am

The only thign I noticed is my avatar is gone, along with the tons I purchased for it, and the blessings reflect the spent money but again, no items. :/ I havent seen anyone else comment on this yet though, so perhaps this only happened to me or a small amount of people.

PM me or start a thread in the suggestions / complaints box if you've lost blessings...let me (us) know how many that you've lost.

why do the posts made to this site randomly disappear???

posted here twice yesterday and they both disappeared. what, does someone have a problem with people speaking their opinion if their opinion does not stroke the right egos? Going to post again and state this site has serious problems beyond the technical and logistical where people can be allowed to prey upon others who join, where moderators (guessing, yes, but who else would have that ability?) can make your posts vanish without any justification or notification, where even on the one occasion you get a notice your post has been put under some kind of "review" you receive no explanation as to what got considered questionable about it and when you inquire you get treated like a criminal. Paul do you intend to address these problems or would it be the case that if a person does not care for being treated this way they should just get lost and find somewhere else to hang out on the internet? Does this really constitute how a Christian site ought to be treating people??? Mind you, not talking about egregious insults, flame fests, spamming, trolling, or even -- what's the neologism? "brinking"? -- just talking about posts randomly VANISHING for NO REASON WHATSOEVER. Like the one made yesterday.

I subscribed to CF on 29 March Sydney time, and my money went to the hacker. Which means CF must have been hacked into by 28 March USA time or before rather than 1 April. Thought i'd point this out in case anyone thinks that their subscription is ok if they subscribed in late March. Would be a good idea to check who the money was paid to.

This site has been very good for me the past month... then it went down and I went down in the dumps, went backwards and drifted to other types of sites I had not been to for almost 9 months. It was not good, and last night I committed to go away from those sites again and come back here. I hope CF hangs around. It's a nice safe place.

Sounds like the site needs strong tech support people and regular changing of passwords innto sensitive areas. I just pray that this can all be worked through and become regular as at this point ZI dont consider this a safe site for any kind of information.

i think the hacker was just after $$...some of you may have noticed funny advertisements that day, and a warning about the confiker virus in red. it looks like they changed the advertisements and my paypal information to get some extra cash. - Pauler

I noticed some real strange quirks the Friday before the final meltdown and since I am not a "techie", I didn't think nothing of it.
I told others about half my reps being missing when I logged on Friday the 3rd and they were restored that day, but now I am wondering if that is when the hacking actually started.

I'm glad this has been brought up in the discussion here.
Many people on this forum queried about the cornflicker ad and members who voiced concerns did not seem to be taken seriously by staff here .

Just my 2bits worth and I think it needs to be adressed.

Update on CF Access - April 12.

It has been brought to my attention that some members are having difficulty getting into CF for the since about Midnight Eastern time. Our owner is working on this as I write this. Hopefully it will be resolved quickly, but just to let you know this is currently creating difficulty for some members, while others are able to get in without problems.

Please hang tight as our owner and techies deal with this.


Regarding Ads:
Only the owner can address ads on CF. As they rotate, if you see a bad ad, you'll need right click on the ad and copy the link from the drop down that says Properties. That can then be passed on to the owner to deal with, or you can PM Pauler via the staff roster - Christian Forums - Show Groups

I'm sorry you've felt ignored. This is the policy of CF and has been as long as I've been here. For future reference, if you feel you aren't being heard, please post a note in Suggestions/Complaints and RT will hear the concerns. They may not be able to fix it, but they can direct the concern to whomever is responsible to address it. Please note, you will not see any threads but yours there.
