What gives us the right to kill on the Battlefield?

Do you believe that Jesus is God? Ever read Isaiah 53 or Psalms 22? Either the New Covenant didn't abolish the old one, or Jesus lied when He said He didn't come to abolish the law. Which is it? I personally believe that He told the truth.

I sure do.... But do you believe in the Trinity I do.... three separate three the same. I asked for a quote from Jesus, that obviously means while he walked the earth. In heaven we call Him God.

Abolish the law?, no I don't think so, as I said if you follow the Law to the "T" I can not find a rebuttle.... however if you are using the Law as justification, more so part of the Law and see the rest as "whatever" Christ himself would call you a hypocrite. He made it so hard to follow the Law He might as well abolished it. I never said the New Covenant abolished the Law I said that the New Covenant applied a new approach, and a new attitude. You did not address this point.

By the way the definition you supplied...... are you implying Christ would use force to settle a dispute... cause that was half the reason they strung Him up.

Seems to me to carry no positive or negative connotation. You were simply offended by being called what you are. It would be the same as if I would be offended if someone called me politically conservative--I am politically conservative.

Offended??? You are projecting things again. If there is no negative or positive connation in the definition it came from the person making the statement (that would be you ) I was never offended, offend at the lack of respect for life yes... by a name I think not.

BTW, if Danny had not been shot he would probably have died in his sins. He was headed further into a dying lifestyle. He would be no worse off if he had died then than if he had not been shot. Another point about this, after the shooting we found some old savings bonds. I don't know for sure, but I think that they were probably someone's retirement fund. If he had not been shot he would have simply spent them on drugs. Is it better to deprive someone of their hard earned property or to use force when necessary to stop criminals?

So basically if Danny was dead it would have been doing him a favor. I am definitely starting to think I am praying to the wrong God. This is proving my point more then yours.... ending ones life is not the only means to using force. This is talking about the Battle field and killing.
Using necessary force to stop some one and killing them are two very different beasts.

I ask any pacifist on this thread, how would you respond to those who want to kill every last human

on the planet not in their sect of Islam? Ask them to kindly stop? They aren't kindly people. They will not stop without force. Give them what they want? They want the world purged of all Christians and Jews and anyone else not in their sect.

So when do Christians stop..... when everyone is to scared to live thier own lives in their own homes? or when we have killed them all? What is evil to you cause you said a sinner is just as good dead. So if someone does not want to believe they should die? If someone, or a government (Iraq) wants to oppose OUR religion we kill them? There will always be evil in this world.... so when do we stop fighting it? You are doing away with what separates the real men from the boys in the religious arena. I would defend myself if attacked and I have done so before.... many a times, I don't have to use lethal force and the insinuation that someone must to defend themselves is simply taking things to an extreme... much like the religion you mentioned above.
Maybe we aren't so different after all.

Do Thank God for those being killed? IF not....why? You're using Him to defend your position why not thank him for it as well?

No, it would have to come from the person interpreting the post, which would be you. Maybe you weren't offended but you resopended with offense.

So by your logic anything that God said or did before Jesus took on flesh was the act of a different God than Jesus? I don't see where Jesus is different from the God of the Old Testament.

So basically we are no differnt the other religious counterparts that will fight "evil" (which consists of christians) untill the day they die. This is simply a vicious cycle that wont ever be broken then.
You are doing away with the very thing that separated us from them.... and placeing us in the exact same boat. Dont you see the problem with that? We constantly look down at these people for these exact same thoughts and yet turn and advocate them. Its not that we arent better then that.... its that people that think like this wont ever allow themselves, or the group they include themselves in, to be the better person.
So in that case...IMO (thats for you jimmy no authhorization given)
Bad answer. Unless you would like to expound on that, maybe give a why? Better yet I would like to know what YOU think makes us so different from those that are "evil", yet act out the vary same things.

In my opinion, evil, simply put is not the definition of biblical evil. We don't fight wars because they don't worship the same G-d that we do. We fight wars when people take away basic human rights. The right to life, the right to free thought, the right to work and own a home and feed their families. These are basic human rights that everyone on this planet should have a right to.
