  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My husband looked up my name as soon as he met me. Being a pastor and all he thought he knew what it meant and had told me it meant 'noose'. I disagreed quite heartily (not realizing that my husband to be was rather schooled in Hebrew) and told him it meant 'captivating'. Talk about putting the best spin on things!

lol thats GREAT spin lol

Tell hubby to come on in and visit sometime

He gets all he needs of this place from me! I'm CONSTANTLY asking him stuff and getting dissertations from him on subjects that come up.

He readily admits that Rebecca was a good name for me...not only am I captivating, but I've trapped him good.

My wife tells me there is a difference between a bush and a shrub:scratch: but I don't see it...

Get this...I looked up the definitions and this is what I got:

bush1 (bʊsh)
pron.gif

n.
  1. A low shrub with many branches.
  2. A thick growth of shrubs; a thicket.
shrub1 (shrŭb)
pron.gif

n.
A woody plant of relatively low height, having several stems arising from the base and lacking a single trunk; a bush.

I guess they can't figure out what the difference is either...^_^

My given name means rose as thats what it is. I always hated it, so old fashioned. I was named after one of my fathers sisters. His other sisters are Agnes and Bertha.
So I was kindof lucky.
But I am going to legally change it in the future, and then it will mean fathers joy.

Pet form of the following:

Gender: Feminine
Usage: English, French, German, Jewish, Biblical
Other Scripts: שָׂרָה (Hebrew)
Pronounced: SER-a (English), ZAH-rah (German) [key]
Means "lady" or "princess" in Hebrew. This was the name of the wife of Abraham in the Old Testament. She became the mother of Isaac at the age of 90. Her name was originally שָׂרָי (Saray), but God changed it (see Genesis 17:15).
