What does your CF screen name mean?

Why did you choose your screenname?

I'm bored and so I though I'd start a silly thread.

My screen name has NOTHING to do with beauty in the physical sense whatsoever. I choose this screen name because God took a broken woman ugly with sin (and headed in the carpool lane to hell) and changed her into a woman that strives not only to be more like Christ everyday, but who rejoices in being with Him in glory forever and ever.

Now that's beautiful to me!

Well, my name comes from Isaiah 40:31 which is my life verse. Too make a long story short, that verse became my favorite verse quite a few years ago and around the same time I became fascinated with eagles and it wasn't till a few years later that God showed me why that verse and the eagles held such a fascination for me.

Around here we can go to the river in February and watch the bald eagles feeding and soaring and to watch them take off is so amazing. It's completely effortless and in about 2 gracefull flaps they're soaring, no hurry to it whatsoever. A couple of years ago we were watching a huge eagle sitting out on a chunk of ice and a barge was coming towards it. He sat there watching the barge and just before the barge reached him he calmly stretched up and within 2 unhurried flaps he was up and soaring. During storms the eagle uses the turbulence given off by the storm to soar up and above the storm untouched by the fury going on beneath them.

While there is more about the life of the eagle that applies to our life with God, this is the biggest application to me. While the storms of life are raging around us, God wants us to calmly rely on Him and then He will lift us up above those storms and even when the storm does apply to us, we don't have to be affected by it!
