If God specified exactly what the terms are for appropriate death, then we would rest on the rules instead of His real terms of salvation-- grace, faith, love, accepting redemption.
..
Can any of you answer this:
Why does God allow so much pain? Will Heaven be worth it in the end?
...But if the deceiver can persuade us that we can be "born of God", without being effectually transformed, then we can "feel", like we're safe and sound in Christ..
When Jesus said, all of you, it meant all of you, "whom He had chosen".
I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me. <-----> John 13:18
The Son of man indeed goes, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born. <-----> Mark 14:21

You sound like a good friend to haveI hope you will continue to be faithful, repeating the same verses to her (I like 1 Corinthians 10:13)...and suicide is not the way "out"...
If she becomes despondent again in this way, keep telling her "not now". If she must, she will keep the option of suicide--perhaps as a shield against having to face what she believes is a horrible future--but she must cling to the fact that things change. She will not always feel so depressed and hopeless...so while she can think it and hear it, "not now."
You are correct in saying that she doesn't want to live this way. Most people who consider suicide don't really want to die, they don't really want to end their lives, they want their lives as they are now to end...a change for better, an ending to the sadness, confusion, frustration, etc that is now in their lives. Making those changes is a choice, just as bailing out through suicide is a choice. A person may suicide when they feel they are totally alone and no one truly understands how desperately sad they are feeling. They choose to stop trying, indeed they may feel they can do nothing else.
It's good that she has a therapist now. Urge her to make a non-suicide pact with the T (therapist) and remind her of it if her thoughts become as dark again (and have her call the T!)
Take care of yourself as well. Ministering to the mentally unwell is very stressful.
Why don't the two of you take the debate to private messages or another part of the forum that allows debates?
As much as I am learning from it, I'd rather not have the mods close or clean it up or either of you to get into any trouble...
Believe I already "drew the line", on that matter.
Thanks be to God !
