  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What do you think when someone says, "I used to be a Christian"?

Haha... Satan isn't much of a "little Christ" if you ask me. :D

I'm sure Satan does know all the Bible... Heck, people think they're special if they go to church a bunch, the devil goes to church too! Just as much or more as you do! :D

A person is defined by his beliefs, not by his actions. Satan is a Christian.

 I must say in answer to your question about one not being a Christian any more -- it is impossible for a person who is truly saved to loose their salvation. You mentioned the main reason I am a Baptist. We are the only denomination that believes "once saved, always saved." We can get away from God, but we cannot get rid of his grace - not if we truly asked for His forgiveness.

Ephesians 2:8 & 9 "For by grace are ye saved, through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Yes, the Bible tells us that satan believes in God, knows God's Word, and trembles......in no way does that make him a Christian. Cause see, the devil is stupid! He knows what the Bible says, yet he still thinks he has a chance against God Almighty! To me, that's the perfect picture of a fool.

I wish I'd had a place like this to come to, to examine the truth. No, we cannot lose our salvation. Here are some clear verses:

Rom 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(NIV)
Rom 11:29
29 for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable.
(NIV)
John 10:28-29
28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.
29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand.
(NIV) (we can't even take ourselves out of God's hand)

If you see verses that seem to contradict these, please examine them all to see which could be taken more than one way. God doesn't contradict Himself.

the unpardonable sin does not apply to Christians. see www.rbc.org/ds/q0602/page4.html or

God bless you, friend. Aloha in Jesus

I honestly have to say that my walk with God is everything to me right now. After all He has brought me through..and well being my best friend literally I dont like the statement 'I used to be a christian.' If you say you were a christian..and then you 'woke up' I think you didnt have a very strong relationship with God in the first place. When my dad past away a few years ago, people asked me 'How can you still trust God?' Thats silly. He is my heavenly father, the one who pulled me through my dads passing in the first place. Its like me abandoning my mother just because my dad died. I love God more than my parents..I love them A LOT..but God is first. Back to point lol. People who say that must not have had as strong as a passion for Him then they let on. If they can so easliy denie Him or just walk away from him. Thats just what I think. Im not real sure.
