The reason we are seeing so many disappearance type shows on TV these days is that Satan is preparing the general population for the rapture?

The reason being that he is creating a mind set that disappearances are rational and not actually unusual.

As in the movie "Taken".  I've seen this discussed elsewhere on how we're being prepared for alternate explanations of the pre-trib rapture.  Even though I believe conspiracies exist, I do not believe hollywood movies are made to direct people's thought in any direction.  I don't think Star Trek would be used to say that they were beamed up by Scotty either.

However, it is interesting how many movies (like The Siege) came out right before 9/11 that had Arab terrorists bombing the US and hijacking planes etc.  then it happened.  But, by what's going on in the world, it was bound to hit us sooner or later.

I remember reading that this was going to be part of their explanation for the rapture disappearances. If this is true, then these people openly hate God, knowing full well that His Son will return for His bride. The Globalist Socialists are down right God haters. Check this site out:

It wasn't my intention to label Hollywood as the guilty party.

My thought was Hollywood as an unknowing tool of Satan. Which Satan uses for many other purposes than this by the way.

Sorry, Dan, didn't mean to imply you did, just many other people out there have some outlandish ideas.  I understand that we've been told so many lies that when truth is uncovered it sounds crazy.  I also understand that Satan is very good at manipulation and slowly introducing ideas into our world.  But I think some people go into left field, like William Cooper, he's a great example.
