Ever since Blockbuster bit the dust we've used Netlflix two movies at a time plus streaming. BTW we don't care for Red Box.

I do like it for the new releases (dvd) since we always get them the same day or next. But aside from that my parents mainly use it to stream older tv shows or in general movies. I find some people don't like the selection. Which depends on what types of genres you like or don't like. One of the problems with what is carries is unlock Blockbuster its movies can come or go based on contracts with companies. Thats why at first I think it had no Disney movies or MGM movies.

I do like you can (online) sort the movies but rating so you all the clean movies are at the top of the results. So its only as bad as you want it to be. And I do believe there is a parental feature that lets you block movies from showing up like R rated and so on. Granted Unrated movies can sometimes be good or bad.

Another bad thing is the movies no longer are rentable with "extra" discs or bonus features. If you notice the discs say its a "rental" version of the movie meaning its bare bones. Also I hear the throttle speeds of streaming but I've never had it happened. I know on weekends the speed in general goes down because of so many people watching stuff.

The one thing that REALLY has made me question it recently is the fact they edit movies. Sometimes they remove nudity for example (which isn't to bad to do). But they also edit out scenes to cut down on the movies file size to stream. Or in many cases the edit things from a scene. Again to save on size.

Heres a few examples:

I had to get used to Netflix. Now that I have, it's decent. It has a pretty wide range of things to choose from. Pretty limited on newer movies. But plenty of tv shows. And I've found a good many movies that I probably would never have watched that turned out to be decent. And a few that were so awful I had to turn them off...

We only do streaming so far. If I want a newer movie, I'm surrounded by Red Boxes! My wife and I are watching Bones right now and that'll keep us busy for quite some time. When it's just me, I'll fire up a guy movie or something that catches my fancy. Right now it's TED talks...those are *really* good.

My daughter (she's five) has ample stuff to choose from. My Little Pony, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, Horseland...the list is endless. So she's basically set for life with tv shows and movies. She mostly watches on our iPad and I might watch something on the tv or my laptop with headphones if it's something scary.

I'm not a huge fan anymore. I got spoiled back when Netflix streaming had a good selection. When they stopped that in order to cut costs, they didn't lower there price and in fact raised it, so if I subscribed I'd be getting less while paying more.

So I'm disappointed in Netflix these days, though I do appreciate that they offer a free first month which allows the customer to see what they are and are not getting.

Yeah, some of the contracts they had with companies expired so now the selection is terrible. I think they said there are more contracts on the way with Disney and possibly HBO. I can't remember exactly.

Which is why they are different then blockbuster which could get movies from anyone they wanted. Not limited contracts.

I like how cheap it is and the wide range of options available. I don't watch a lot of television but when I do Netflix is usually my go-to source. I just wish it didn't take them so long to add new seasons and shows.
