The thing is, Christian history is full of examples of the worst kinds of horror where the guard rails ceased to exist, all due to the perceived Divine calling of God. I think it's a valid point. One wonders sometimes if some elements of today churches are loosening those guard rails somewhat.
And is the secular world leading the way by showing they have no guard rails at all? How many women and children have died in wars and the governments are aware and still launching rockets, mortars, drones?
I've lost count of the number of supermarket grocery stores I seen in reports blown to bits and civilians and children dead in Ukraine.. not to mention all the other conflicts going on, that one simply gets a lot of attention.
Why aren't these civilized, moral people showing us how it's done? Diplomacy seems too hard now and intellectualism takes a backseat to violence on people that aren't even enlisted in the military.
I don't claim to know the statistics or details, but I'm nearly certain (note the nearly) that children have, and are, dying due to the wars going on from military attacks directly.
I really don't think anyone is going to dispute that fact, it's prolific. These things horrify me, but I hear a lot of people saying things (especially in "comment sections") like "they deserved it," "just an accident," "they took their land," and wow have I ever found hatred between the two nations themselves, such as Ukraine and Russia.... I can't even repeat the things they call each other.
Claiming that, "the world," or "humanity," has any moral high ground seems a bit difficult to say the least.
