What do you think about double barrels?

I heard a rumor that if a mouse eats through one single plastic barrel and confronts another inner liner barrel that the mouse will give up.

I don't have any way of testing this theory ... so I was just wondering do you double barrel or do you think it is a wise move?

Mouses don't like baby powder so I think lining the barrel with that will deter any mouse.
