So what do you all enjoy doing?

I take long walks around my neighborhood. I used to live in the country but moved to the city, and now the rural around here is less (When I wake up each day I see a river of homes now, not the countryside mountains I was used to growing up.).

I also fantasize about killing birds (lol, I'm so mean).

You've climbed pine? O_O Try to climb the pine at my place and you'll end up quite sticky! I much prefer to climb Maples. I have 6 acres, and my relatives have even more so, so for me there is never a shortage of trees, thank goodness.

The sticky pitch in pine trees can be used to make a type of glue. If you've had 12 years of schooling like me, it's hard not to know that. At School you can possibly learn everything.

 Hunting, fishing, hiking, jogging, horseback riding--all of the above! I live and work outside on a cattle ranch. Wouldn't have it any other way. When I'm out and away from others and not to apt to get caught, maybe just my lady and me---I like to go naked. There's nothing like the sun, the breeze and the freedom of it. Occasional passers- by never seem to mind. What could be any more natural and healthy?

I don't think nudity is Christian, sorry.

Well, this is semi-outdoors: My wife and I enjoy watching the birds and animals around our house. Since Jan. 12 we have had two hummingbirds. First time we have noticed them in our yard in the winter -- although several folks in our area have them year round. Big event for us.

Lol, yup. My parents are master gardeners and yes, hummingbirds are kind of rare. For us too.

And they are tiny so if you see one you have to be keen.

With the help of field guides I've been able to identify the three species that visited us recently.

The first two that came had sparkly red under their throats. I identified them as the Ruby-Throated Hummingbird.

The other one that came was all sparkly green (like a sequin it was so pretty!), went to my field guide to identify which species of hummingbird it was but to my surprise I came up with no matches.

:nowords:

My neighbors have a small forest behind my house and I've been going out there and picking at the foliage lately I guess and collecting specimens. o.o

There is actually a lot to a forest, a lot of different components. At first you might think it is just a forest but when you look closer it becomes a rock, a pine cone, a bird, a stick, some moss, a babbling brook, sunshine, dirt, earthy smells, leaves, trees, bark, I could go on and on.

That sounds really cool. Im sure its beautiful.

I work on a ranch (in the house) and love to watch the wild turkeys. The are pretty funny, and raising some teenagers right now. They make a mess, but the entertainment factor makes it worthwhile. There are also some cool lizards too. Semi arid climate.

The most enjoyable part of my day is early a.m. when I take a short hike down to a lake in a city park not far from here and visit my duck and other water fowl bird friends. Sometimes there are red-winged blackbirds and other species there as well as many mallards, buffleheads, and one solitary great blue heron hangs around there. Some of the ducks stay all year but many migrate S. and then come back in early spring. Fun watching the ducklings grow up.

Adding a little story: Sometime I do counseling of women in my church and recently arranged to meet a counselee at the park on a nice day. We sat on one of the benches overlooking the lake and reeds, lily pods, etc. About 30 of the immature ducklings followed me to that spot and came out of the water on to the shore and quacked and quacked until I finally had to shoo them away. We went on with the session anyway. I don't feed them. I just think they wanted my sole attention. :D Really, are fine feathered friends! :D

That sounds pretty cool jannikitty! I love waterfowl.

I enjoy gardening and taking care of animals and birds. God's creation is amazing!

Yes, just knowing that and being able to observe my fine feathered friends gives me much reason to Praise Him..

I enjoy going out and feeding the birds in my yard each day. There is only one bird feeder box but several places on the ground and in old hanging plant boxes where they love to come to feed. Nothing fancy but they don't really require that. Mostly small birds frequent these spots. Also some rabbits eat the seed (corn too) that I drop in the back yard. Fun to watch this and also birds taking baths in the bird bath later from my back bedroom window!
