Jesus didn't take in millions of dollars of $$$$ and spend it on himself. Didn't you read the article, she and her husband are living large on the proceeds from her ministry, while Jesus didn't have a bed to lay His head.

Jesus didn't have a wife and children either.

But actually, Jesus owned all the gold and silver on both sides
of the Jordan, still does.

Do you think that God desires that we be poor?
(Trying to think of some Bible evidence of that)

OH and also, Jesus didn't have a bed, do you?

see what I mean?
We need to really think these things through...
Or we can get in trouble judging folks God is pleased with.

Being poor is one thing, of which the Meyer's are not. If you haven't noticed in the article, the Meyer ministry was rated a "C" by a reputable Christian ministry watchdog group, because of their lavish spending on themselves, that totally goes against the Gospel.

Where is the line between wealth and poverty?
IOW, to someone in a third world country,
you're ridiculously wealthy and greedy and
wasteful.
I'm not taking sides here, I'm trying to be
objective and fair.

I have to use my own judgement, I have no idea what criteria
is used by a "watchdog group", who they are, what theyre about,
where their hearts are etc.
Not trying to be disagreeable, again, I'm trying to be logical,
objective and fair.

Also, consider Solomon.
Who gave him those riches?
Why?

God gave him those riches, but not for some of the purposes which Solomon put them to. God said:

God obviously didn't give Solomon riches to multiply horses from Egypt or to multiply wives unto himself, yet this is precisely what Solomon used some of his riches for:

In fact, if I had started this quote a bit sooner, then it is also obvious that Solomon multiplied gold unto himself so much (I Kings 10:14-15) that silver, by comparison, was simply like stones (I Kings 10:27). Solomon's misuse of funds, in direct violation to God's commands, cost both him and the nation of Israel dearly.

To answer your question, I believe that God gave Solomon riches to build the temple whose design He had given to David by the Spirit and to help to run the nation. This account reminds me much of what transpired with the children of Israel after they spoiled the Egyptians. Some of the spoils were used in building the tabernacle and some of the spoils were used to fashion a golden calf. As such, I don't think that money, in and of itself, is evil (although the love of it is), but it is important that we use it properly, as good stewards of that which ultimately belongs to God Himself.

Just two cents worth from our friendly, neighborhood "watchdog group".

God gave him those riches,...
Amen.

My point was simply to show the young man that God had no problem with
the blessing a man with wealth and good things.
Nothing wrong with having 'stuff' so long as you
are in love with the creator OF the stuff and not
the stuff He gives.

My son and I were just reading a financial book and
when I asked him why we need not "worry" over money
he said "because it's just money?"
lol.
Wasn't what I was getting at but it was a great attitude
And I feel that same way about having little or having
much. It's just stuff.
It's the "heart" that matters.

Yes, and we all have our understandings and opinions.

Your are not being logical, you are in denial of the facts. Every professed Evangelical in modern history who has lived large while doing ministry has sooner of later gone the way of scandal. Jim & Tammy Fae Baker, Jimmy Swagart, scores of black preachers, who preach the prosperity gospel, and the list goes on.

Except if you are a godless communist, being rich is not normally considered a sin.

Which facts?
BTW, What IS wealthy?
Anyone who has more than me?

Do you save money up?
Why? Not to get poorer.
Do you try to get the best paying job?
Sure.

Every professed Evangelical in modern history who has lived large while doing ministry has sooner of later gone the way of scandal.
Lived large.
Again, WE live large.
And be careful when you use words like "every"
folks want a thing proven around here.
Jim & Tammy Fae Baker, Jimmy Swagart, scores of black preachers,

What does pigment have to do with it?

who preach the prosperity gospel, and the list goes on.
We need to "prosper".
We're told to feed the poor, care for widows etc.
Scripture says to leave an inheritance for my
childrens children
. Must be we better prosper a bit.
How much?
What's up with that?

I don't see money as an "evil" thing.
I see the LOVE of money as the evil thing.

God blesses with money and wealth too.
As He did with Solomon, EVEN knowing that
Solomon would (according to bornofgod888)
misuse the wealth.
'Sup with that now?

That's my take, my opinion. my understanding.

Why is it according to me? All that I did was quote the scriptures. I didn't write them.

You did more than just quote Scripture.
(See blue font below)

Yes, and we all have our understandings and opinions.
But I was referring to "watchdog"s.
They all have their own understandings and opinions.
We all do

Aren't you rich?
What's "rich"?
Well, in relationship to John the Baptist, Jesus was accused by his critics as living high off the hog. (well, in a manner of speaking; I am sure it was a kosher hog).

Wealth is a relative sort of thing.

In comparison to this Meyers lady, whom I don't know anything about really, for all appearances, she seems more blessed than us, but we really do not know what here trials are like. In spite of all appearances, it could really suck to be her. Very often in fact, if we knew what problems those that seem very blessed actually have, we wouldn't trade places with them for all the riches in the world.

Sometimes it really sucks to be me too. But rather than focusing on my envy of others, I try to focus on what there is in my life that I can be grateful for.

Ummm, even the stuff in blue is scriptural.

Regarding what I said about monies to build the temple whose pattern was given to David by God, you can read I Chronicles chapters 28 and 29.

What I said about how the Israelites used the spoils of the Egyptians is also scriptural (I'm sure that you're already familiar with it, so I'm not going to post scriptural references).

Finally, I Timothy 6:10 says that "the love of money is the root of all evil".

Like I said, I was only quoting scripture which I did not write.

That's how I see it.

And I don't care if He gives me a lot of 'stuff'
or doesn't. I just want to be WHERE HE WANTS
me.
LOL
Yeah, it sure can suck to be me too.
But I agree with you that it could suck to be her.
And really, I know next to nothing about her too.

And I know what you mean about being grateful.
The older I get and the crazier the news gets
I try to just love every second of this that HE
gave me and bask in the Son.

And like I said:

Can you hear me now? heh.

No offense, but I really hate wasting my time
hashing over nothing and repeating myself.

God bless you!
Have a great day.
