I think the Lakewood threads have been stopped until the other threads have been reviewed.
With respect, it’s a video/add of Joyce Mayer not an opinion of her teaching.
The video is a good example of Joyce Meyer's teachings... Which was the motive for the post. Any problems with hearing someone out before making judgements against them?

I must admit I didnt see it was that long. Thats a lot of video, not sure why its on this thread.
99.9% of the video is the teaching of Joyce Meyer. Which, if your going to judge somebody at least hear them out. As far as the length, I cannot help that the lady likes to talk.
Maybe, but thats not what the thread is really about. It's about opinions.
I have heard Joyce Mayer many times before and Ive also seen the real damage the teachings do to others. So no I wont watch the video, buy her books or support her ministry.
My point however was in regards to the many Lakewood themed threads recently and their status. I think at the moment I prefer to work on those things we have in common in CF. I like Christian unity and Im a little tired of all the arguments here.
Well... Why not start a new one and call it "The why we hate Joyce Meyer" thread. That way you will only attract those who equally hate the woman.
Who hates her? Certainly not me, please dont make such accusations.
The thread is now going way off topic.
Lets agree to stop any hostility now before it starts.
My point stands this is the wrong place for a long video of Joyce Mayers teaching. Thats my point, nothing more. No hate for her at all.
It is ok not to listen to the woman. If that is not your cup of tea... Fine! Listen to what teachings bless your ears. After many ganging up on the woman I thought I would at least give her equal time. If you listen to the sermon it was a good one.
If today's preacher is living scriptural lives I normally don't have a problem with their tendencies to go overboard materially (which, hate to say, Joyce does)... I wish they wouldn't do it, but I won't hit the off button on them if they do.
What really gets me off board with much religiously today are the extra marital affairs. This is an embarrassment for Christianity. In the words of God the Father, it gives the enemies of the Lord occasion to blaspheme (2 Samuel 12:14), which is not cool. But there are still many, including Joyce Meyer, who are devoted spouses and parents, so I choose to remain onboard.
As for prosperity and this world, there is scriptural teaching on that too.
John Wesley gave most of the money he made from his book proceedings back to ministry. The American preacher chooses not to do this. This goes way back to Ira Sankey and DL Moody, who annoyed the English over the profits they intended to keep over Ira Sankey's popular hymnal (if I remember the story correctly). I wish it were not so, but few popular preachers have followed Wesley's example. Even Francis Asbury called himself 'Bishop' and Dr. Cooke founded a college after their own names, which annoyed Wesley.
I think this is the root cause for the dislike of so many American evangelists. I wish they would choose to live more modestly, but cannot help they choose otherwise.
I didn't watch it but I may sometime. It is ok not to listen to the woman. If that is not your cup of tea... Fine! Listen to what teachings bless your ears. After many ganging up on the woman I thought I would at least give her equal time. If you listen to the sermon it was a good one.
She seems to really be living it up, when she's not about the Father's businesss. If today's preacher is living scriptural lives I normally don't have a problem with their tendencies to go overboard materially (which, hate to say, Joyce does)... I wish they wouldn't do it, but I won't hit the off button on them if they do.
Again, are any of us pure (in our hearts)? What really gets me off board with much religiously today are the extra marital affairs. This is an embarrassment for Christianity.
Gotta admit, about 15/20 years ago, I fell for that.Yes you have a point Sankey and DL Moody did keep the profits. The problem is that prosperity preachers don’t just make money with sales of over hyped books, they operate a pyramid scheme of “sowing your seed” with a promise of 10 fold return. Desperate people pour their money into this and the only people getting rich are the preachers. No, it’s not just about Joyce Meyer it’s about God’s people being led astray.
