  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What did you last eat?!

Yum, E102. *drools*

It's a good source of protein ;)

Fake yellow food colouring? No, it isn't.

You're mixing it up with the kind of red food colouring that's made up out of crushed-up insects. Plenty of protein in that.

Oh, right.

I tend to mix up with fake yellow food coloring with crunchy insects.

My bad.

Eww.

Also the last thing I had to eat was pancakes. :D
Which kind?

If it is anything apart from chocolate chip pancakes, we are no longer friends.

But really for organic, walmart grocery is the best bet and it is a small selection.

I’m not surprised. We don’t have any in my area. There’s a mini store further away. Most stores are near the suburbs.

The raised bed in the backyard needs the wood replaced so i am going to do that in the next few weeks. It was made out of 2x12's but i am going to go with 6x6" stacked that should last longer.

Will it be low to the ground or on legs?

The crystal grill is an old family restaurant (greek owned) that cooks great southern dishes and really good fish, redfish, snapper, flounder, catfish and salmon.

My grandmother would tell us she couldn’t chew. Then ask for honey wings and gingersnaps. She liked certain things and frowned on the rest as her health worsened.

Where i live is the home and where the stove was created and started, Viking Range and is still located here. I thought back in the 1990's Viking was going really bring greenwood back around the owner through the company was buying up a lot of downtown property and restoring the buildings for office space. But the owner got the company into bad shape (housing bust in the 2008 hurt them bad) and ended up selling to Middlebay. Viking is still here and Middlebay is trying to turn the company around, to produce a better product now.

Viking makes great products. I like the ranges a lot. They cook well. They’re probably more practical than the La Cornue’s I favor.

No with the heat it is best that raised beds have a connection to the actual earth. You would spend a lot of time watering as they would dry out really fast in the heat, at least that has been my experience. Maybe for small growings of a plant or two. Kind of like i am doing with two tomato plants, i put in grow pots yesterday at the house.

Looked up the La Corrue you posted, had not heard of this company, i like the look/design of this brand.

Its a long story but viking could have, i think, if handled with an eye toward quality, produced a good product. I do think "like i said" Middleby is trying to restore or build a better product and name.

I use Azure Standard (some) but lately it has been harder to get items. I have an on order now, that has been about a month out.

Mom does good, just at 91 she her activity has slowed, so she just does not need as much fuel. She loves a baked sweat potato with butter and the fish and a pealed tomato (she will not eat one unless it is pealed) and a few other foods.

Yes, that would be a concern in a warmer climate. I'd forgotten.

They have an old world look. If you've watched Paula Deen on television that's the brand she used in her kitchen. Some Williams-Sonoma stores carried them too.

Will that be a problem down the road? Will you need to choose a different line?

I value quality and workmanship. My lifestyle is similarly paced with an emphasis on savoring the moments. I don't do the rat race or save things for special occasions. I believe in abundant living and enjoying my days.

I'd rather have a great steak once per month than a mediocre one several times over. Or a well-fitting outfit made with quality fabric than a closet full of junk. I consider them investments and I'm deserving. Depriving myself for the sake of consumption is worthless. That's a different mindset from our culture. But I'm not a minimalist. :)

Warmer weather is here once more!

I’m enjoying a glass of cava with a little framboise. I like to enhance it with Mathilde liqueurs for added flavor.
