What word would you use?I disagree with the denomination bit...but here are my results...

Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (93%)
Evangelical Lutheran Church (85%)
Episcopal/Anglican Church (73%)

I'm trying to understand this post. Catholics are not a Christian denomination? Who are Catholics? Please tell me.
Thank you for asking and be willing to consider a change!. I think the word denomination does have negative connotations for us.
If you give us a few days so we can discuss it amongst us, I am sure we could come up with a fitting alternative..
The RCC & EO invented denominating beyond the generic "Christian".The Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches predate denominations. Denominations are in invention of the protestant reformation.

Right,... no one should. It's about the way it's said more than the word itself, that disturbs.Naturally I don't think of the Catholic Church as a denomination among denominations, but I don't get offended anymore if the term is used when discussing different churches.
What made you change your attitude? Just curious...Naturally I don't think of the Catholic Church as a denomination among denominations, but I don't get offended anymore if the term is used when discussing different churches.
