On all the debate threads about the Ten Commandments and the Sabbath Commandment, the Law of God written on the heart under the New Covenant of Jeremiah 31:31-33 -- what is the ONE point that in the modern age almost all who post agree upon?

Answer: Saturday is the 7th day - the Bible Sabbath (and that makes Sunday -- week day 1 -- the first day of the week)

Exodus 20:10-11
10 .. the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

So while we can find many who want the Ten Commandments nailed to the cross, abolished, or at least have them downsized to the NINE Commandments with one nailed to the cross etc - the one thing that remains common to almost all in these modern debates is that Saturday is the 7th day.

So then Sunday is "week day 1" - the day that Christ was raised from the dead - making Saturday the 7th day of the week not just by Jewish and Muslim standards but also by Christian standards.

Luke 24
On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

John 20
Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. 2 So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”

Mark 16
When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”

4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.

Matthew 28
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

Jews and Christians keep Saturday as the 7th day - the Bible Sabbath.
Many Christians keep Sunday as week-day-1 - the day Jesus was raised

No, it is supposed to be one of the easiest threads on the board

It will be almost impossible to find a point of contention is my guess
The obvious answer would Sunday. I have to suspect you'll tell us it isn't Sunday.

Actually, Sunday was the day when tomb was found empty. It is possible that Jesus was raised from the grave at Saturday (making Wednesday the day of crucifixion). :)

Well Bob, I must agree with what you wrote.
Many Christians keep Sunday as week-day-1 - the day Jesus was raised
No one knows the time when Jesus rose, the scripture is silent on the exact time.

The scripture only declares that the apostles witnessed, the resurrected Christ on the first day of the week.

So we celebrate the resurrected Christ on Sunday.

Whether Jesus rose on a Saturday or a Sunday, the scripture is silent.

The time that the apostles saw the risen Christ, is the time that is certain. Christ was seen to be risen by the apostles, i.e., the witnesses on Sunday.

I would strongly advise you not to speculate when the scripture is silent.

he answered his own question, we are not obligated to keep the sabbath because Jesus rested on the sabbath in the only way possible to truly fulfill the sabbath.

Jesus died before the sabbath began, resting fully during the sabbath, then resurrected after the sabbath. the sabbath then is fulfilled for the first time fully as the logic of the sabbath eventually would go right to the beating of your heart or breath that causes "work" and it is completed by the only person who could do it.

The only evidence we have is the empty tomb early, before dawn, on the first day of the week. By the Jewish reckoning days are counted from sunset to sunset. St. Joseph of Arimathea requested the body of Jesus be taken down and buried before sunset on Friday because at sunset Friday the Sabbath day began.

Jesus was buried on the sixth day (Friday) before sunset.
Jesus was in the tomb from sunset to sunset on the Sabbath.
Jesus rose early on the first day, before sunrise.

St. Justin tells us in his Apology that the reason why Christians gather on the first day of the week is because it's the day Christ rose from the dead.

"But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly, because it is the first day on which God, having wrought a change in the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ our Savior on the same day rose from the dead. For He was crucified on the day before that of Saturn; and on the day after that of Saturn, which is the day of the Sun, having appeared to His apostles and disciples, He taught them these things, which we have submitted also for your consideration." - St. Justin Martyr, First Apology, ch. 67, c. 150 AD

Justin's Apology is addressed to the Roman emperor and the Roman senate, as such he uses the Roman names for days, the day of Saturn (Saturday) and the day of the Sun (Sunday).

The day before that of Saturn is Friday.
The day of Saturn is Saturday (the Sabbath).
The day of the Sun is Sunday.

Jesus was crucified and buried on Friday.
Was in the tomb all day Saturday.
Jesus was raised on Sunday.

This is what Christians have always believed and understood.

He would not have violated the Sabbath by being resurrected (work of reCreation). Remember Sabbath ended at sundown. The women didn't arrive til early the next day.

Except you forget that the Sabbath was made for mankind. It was not something that Jesus was to be a type of, it was a memorial of Creation.

And it was law. None of the laws were made for God they were made by God yet Jesus walked through them in perfection

Jesus healed on Shabbat day, I don’t see why God would not have raised Jesus from death at Shabbat day. Doing good on Shabbat day is not forbidden. But it is possible that Jesus raised just after the Shabbat was over. :)
