I don't watch the news much. But if seems to me the writer is implying that across America, Muslims commonly face having their mosques fired upon during services?

I would be really surprised if that is an accurate portrayal and it has escaped my notice?

It's not a good idea to try to make your point using inaccurate examples.

Worldwide, I know that Muslims experience persecution - isn't it most often at the hands of other (different kinds of) Muslims though? And we hear too many reports from historically Orthodox countries of Christians being persecuted and killed by Muslims. We pray every Liturgy for two of our bishops that have been kidnapped for years.

I'm not aware of Christians having kidnapped and holding captive any Muslim religious leaders?

I don't like to speak out against anyone. And I am for considering persons on an individual basis, and not blaming individuals for what others with similar (or possibly dissimilar) ideologies may have done.

But on the other hand, facts are facts. Yes, Muslims are looked upon with suspicion, perhaps often unfairly to those particular persons. But what is actually happening in the world in terms of religious-motivated murdering is what is happening, and trying to turn it around as though there is some other reality is not helpful, IMO.

I suspect what would be really helpful is actually delineating somehow between Muslims who don't support such things (and I do strongly believe some/many/most do not) and those who do. But that probably isn't going to happen.

On a personal note , a Muslim family , who were neighbours to my mother and to myself , when I moved in with her to care for her in her last years , I rank among by best friends .

Shakil , the father of the family , impressed me right away by the respect he showed to my mother .

I just love them , Saiqa and Shakil (the mum and dad) , Humaira (the eldest daughter , now married) , the sons Shoaib and Zhoaib (two scamps) , and the two youngest , Adel (another son) , and Aleema (another daughter) .

They now live in a neighbouring town about 6 miles away , but they call round to visit me many a time .

Needless to say these special Jumbulances cost a HUGE amount of money.

A new one was going to be needed - and it was funded by a group of people in the North of England ----
