It looks like there is division in the US. Some violence also.

Could anything be done to stop it?

Pray and plead to God that He would bless this nation with repentance and faith in Jesus Christ for all people on all sides. Only God can stop a civil war.

That is not something that both sides are doing. Those kinds of innuendoes are coming much exclusively from the left.
Wrong.

I live in West Virginia but near the Pennsylvania line, so I got to watch all the advertisements from the
Conor Lamb/Rick Saccone special election in the Spring. Republican Saccone was the first to start running negative ads, and some of them were downright nasty.

The United States went through labor unrest in the late 1800s/early 1900s when people were actually shooting each other. The Haymarket Affair, the Pullman Strike, the Battle of Blair Mountain, the Homestead Strike were all bloody; that did not result in a Civil War.

The United States went through racial unrest for decades, with lynchings, beatings and riots. That didn't result in a Civil War.

I think that we will somehow get through our current difficulties without a Civil War.

I have the feeling that it would be stopped or very much reduced if the police agencies and courts were to do their jobs.

As it is now, Antifa and all manner of new protest organizations, marchers, and so on can threaten death or bodily injury, destroy property, start fires, attack bystanders, trespass, and all manner of actions that are actually against the law...and get a slap on the wrist if they are unlucky enough to be one of the token people chosen out of the crowd to be arrested.
Which is part of draining the swamp. Too many corrupt judges, prosecutors, lawyers and police exist in the system.

It is not just corruption. It is the weakness and the lack of spine official America has to take care of the problem lest they be branded as racist, sexist old, white men who should just shut up and step aside.
Trump’s boorish obnoxiousness has an appeal in the face of such cowardice.
But the real turning point is when ultra moderate Lindsay Graham had his “NO, YOU shut up ! “. moment.
If the old, white men are going down in this civil war, at least they won’t be going down as squishes.
No you shut up, Hirono. You have been the mouthpiece for old white Democrats playing the guilt game long enough.

Take em or leave em, just a few thoughts and advice:

My first thought is, it might help people to consider there has always been division, or diversity in the US. The problem has more to do with tolerances and ethics of how grievances are expressed over differences. In short, people need to grow up and stop the high school behaviors and mentalities. Maybe tune out of politics to a healthy point or whatever charges a person up to the point of questionable if not illegal ethical thoughts/words/behavior. People should stop the injecting politics into everything mentality and lighten up. Get some fresh air, take a vacation, whatever clears the mind and brings a sense of balance to life. Maybe put time or more time into hobbies, whatever can help take focus and attention from grievances. But unfortunately I do not think my advice/strategy of striving towards peaceful mental health can do much for another related problem, heart health or ethical problems related to the nature of humanity. Gospel singer Andrae Crouch had a hit song which goes like this..."Jesus is the answer for the world today, above Him there is no other, Jesus is the way". If we believe and repent of our ways, Christ will bring joy and peace in our lives, and change people who were formerly violent and active in lies, deception, and unethical behaviors regardless of their political views into tolerant loving people with patience they did not have formerly.

Yesterday my wife and I were treated to lunch by a very sweet Catholic lady, who is also no fan of the current President. Of course my wife and I are not Catholics and we voted for the current President. But neither of these differences have effected our friendship with this lady, and we do not want them to, and neither does she. Love is greater than all the political ideologies put together in the world, and without it, even the most Biblical political theory is empty and void.

A day where women who are sexually assaulted are taken seriously would be a good start.

Even if they are lying about it. The truth is irrelevant, right?

Stop with billboards with this language and photos of supposedly aborted late term babies.

Supposedly? There are none so blind as those who will not see.

False accusations of course open the door to legal remedies, such as penalties and lawsuits, so obviously I am not in favor of that. However, almost all women who come forward are not lying, and it's time our culture starts taking women's stories just as seriously as it does protecting men's reputations.

According to people promoting an agenda. There is no college rape crises in America and Western Civilization does not harbor a rape culture. Both of those claims are fabricated tales being utilized by certain groups to advance social justice goals.

Evidence. The accusation of a crime requires the proof of evidence. Why is this concept so hard to understand?

I am guessing that most men and women who commit to marriage take one another seriously.

As for word of mouth and believing people...try this experiment: Visit each of the banks in your area and ask to speak to a loan specialist. Then explain how you can pay off a loan and or how you can pay the monthly payments. Next they will do credit checks to see if you are eligible for a loan. If your credit is favorable and you get a green light for a loan, tell them your word is your bond and try to arrange a verbal agreement based on your credibility. Good luck!

As somebody who knows women that are dear and near to me who have survived sexual assault, I find your remarks to be far from the reality I have experienced. Sexual assault is not rare, unfortunately.

This is what debate with a leftist always devolves to, the "I know someone" rebuttal.

Do you understand the profound difference between the fact sexual assault may occur in any given country and the existence of a rape culture within that country?

We do have a "rape culture", because obviously some men still feel rape is something that is acceptable, and rape and sexual assault are still seen as primarily a woman's responsibility to avoid. Just because you don't like the ugly truth doesn't change that reality.
