  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

secularfuture: "YOU'RE 100% CORRECT!
"The Big Bang" is a VERY stupid name for such a grand theory."

That's because the term "big bang" was coined as a derisive term by Fred Hoyle, a leading proponent of the steady state theory, to describe the position of his opponents (who generally referred to it as the primeval atom theory or as the Lemaitre-Gamow model). Until the big bang theory received widespread acceptance, most scientists held to the steady state theory, which argued that the universe had no beginning and had always existed.

Why do you think the big bang theory contradicts what God says?

Why does scientific confirmation of what the Bible said thousands of years ago seem to upset you so much?

LOL.....That was the purpose of the name.  It was coined by a physicist that disagreed with the theory when it was first introduced.  He wanted to make it sound silly.
