Pfft...cooking. I dunno eh. It just so happens that someone pays me to research ice cream :yum: though unfortunately that doesn't mean I'm just paid to eat it. The company I work for has research centres in the states too :D
Okay, I have a question: When you meet someone, say at a party, what do you tell them when they ask what you do for a living?

That I work in ice cream research. If they ask further then I explain a bit about what I actually do.

Geology for me. It's absolutely fascinating to me and really incorporates chemistry, physics, astronomy, and even biology in terms of paleontology into one super science geared toward examining (inside and out) the planet on which we all reside. It's the most overlooked and underrated of them all in my opinion. People seem to think geologists are nothing more than people who look at rocks too much.

i love most of the sciences, but esp, physics, physical chemistry, astronomy and astrophysics,a bit of geology and biology. unfortunatly my maths is bad ( i had to drop out of a physics degree) so i cant study physics so i chose the environmental sciences at uni. hopefully oneday in the far future, when im 40 ish, i might try pass a level maths or equivilant. :)

Why isn't math in the list ? It's the only exact science, and it's the basis of all else (expect, maybe, biology)...
I was a maths fan, but now that I've stopped studying it, and that i've begun to understand physics, i would say i prefer quantum physics (not many calculus, but much thinking, that's really fantastic).
I also like the study of algorithms... and digital electronics (rather than analogical).

I love Chemistry and Biology! Right now I'm taking AP biology and it's really good. Chemistry.....oh my goodness it's SO interesting. I'm doing some stuff on atoms and the more I learn about them.....it's just crazy the complexity of it all and how everything works out in the end.
I want to take physics next year, but I'm not so sure if I'll like it as much, it sounds like there's more math involved than chemistry. *ahh! lol.

Depends upon which area of physics you take up. Some parts have more maths than chemistry and other parts have more chemistry than maths while other areas don't have much of both.

I love physics. I'm not exceptionally good at it (down the bottom of the class) but I love doing it. It has helped me to understand and have a greater appreciation of what goes on in this world that we live in. Esp. Sound, electromagnetics and movement. I also enjoy learning about Astronomy as it also gives me a greater appreciation of the heavens above. Biology tends not to like me and I don't really like Chem.

So, what is your favorite area of science?

Chemistry is probably the toughest, that puts me off! Biology is very interesting because it helps us understand ourselves and mother nature better. Physics is too much Maths!
