This question may be similar to others, but, who are your favorite jazz/big band musicians/leaders? Mine are:
Stan Kenton
Maynard Ferguson
Buddy Ridh
Woody Herman.

My favorite smaller groups are:
Howard Roberts
Crusaders
Joe Sample
Harvy Mason.

My favorite jazz vocalists:
Singers Unlimited, they are terrific, if you have not heard them you are in for a treat, they have to be the very best.
Ella
Manhattan Transfer
Doris Day
June Christy
Anita O'Day.
Peggy Lee
Mel Torme
Frank Sinatra

I have so many others, but my mind is drawing a blank.

I also love all the older big bands. My dad used to be a musician with Clyde McCoy, he played lead alto, so, I love to study and hear about all the great bands, they were truly awesome.

I have no favorite. Many times it depends on the mood I'm in. I enjoy Old jazz. A song I like a lot is not really a jazz song but many jazz bands have played it called "Blue Skies".
I like really old jazz and one or two in particular in traditional jazz are "High Society" and also "Panama". Maybe borrow a cd from local library and get The Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
Maybe Kid Ory.
You might like Benny Goodman or Count Basie big band style jazz.
PS There's a lot of jazz out there, you just have to look.
