I So, I was wondering... does anyone else here get excited about a movie premiere or even go to a midnight showing of their favorite movie fandom?

I'm tucked up in bed by midnight . Probably some ingrained , subconscious thing going back to my infant days......Cinderella , and all that . :)

I saw Mrs Doubtfire yesterday... it was tragicomic. I would say it was a pearl in the moviejungle though, considering comedy and the aspect of seriousness involved in the drama and to what length and depth a father goes to be able to see His children...with one word... love. But let us remember, this is a comedy and a rather tragic one but it ends better than expected.

Here's your human interest story of the day. Star Wars influenced much of my early Lego building although Lego didn't come out with their first Star Wars set until 1999. When Star Wars Lego sets did become available, on the inaugural night, I sneaked out of my house at midnight, I slipped into a Toys R US, dodged the TV cameras, and purchased one of the my first Lego Star Wars set. Fortunately my ruse worked, I didn't show up on the nightly news and my wife knew nothing about it.

A funny thing that I just noticed about Star wars is that if You read it backwards it becomes Sraw rats and the S as in all great movies stand for Super.

I have some friends who are all hyped up about the new Star Wars movie.

I took young Jack to see the new Star Wars on Saturday .

He enjoyed it , but I thought it was daft , though I was impressed by the technology which put the whole thing together , and the 3D was fascinating . It's the first film I have seen in 3D . In fact up to about four weeks ago I hadn't been to the cinema for about 30 years . The present day cinema is a new experience for me . I would like to see them show some of the old classics , but they seem to stick to relatively new releases .

About 60 years ago my grandma took me to see Gone With The Wind , but the projector broke down , and that was that .

Today the world outside glisten and glimmer with frost and snow covers the fields and spruce and pine and leafless trees...I have a package waiting at the post and thought maybe I walk over the two miles to get it and back maybe I can film or photo some great views...then it struck me it might turn into a horror movie because a pack of 6 volwes was there some day ago and no sheep yet torn and there are a lot of sheep on the way. Too bad the wolves are not afraid so I better stay at my own outsides if I want to be able to get in if need be. Sigh, we could enjoy nature freely when I was a kid, wandering around the whole day in the forest without a care in the world. Now, we have to be on our alert all the time, not even allowed to defend our family when the wolf is on our doorstep. Someone please make a movie.

I did ask if I am allowed to grab the wolfves legs and throw them into the trees and and give them a concushion if they actually jump on the throats on the kids and someone (hunter) said that was probably ok if that happened, but like, I mean one day sooner or later someone upset parent will put some wolves in a similar restricted dogline so they do not run into kindergarten or school because where people live animals are not to run around freely, cats maybe but not lynx and not wolves and bears and not dogs. I can not help but wonder why us countrypeople are less valued than citypeople, sure animals are supposed to live in the forest. When the bear near us started wandering toward town it got shot. See some reason they did have to get rid of the wolf in the first place, there were reports of wolves tearing kids and grown ups and we are seeing fearless wolves now, it seem to believe it is a nasty dog, not staying in the forest, the territory goes beyond, into the villages, even citysuburbs and in 10 years there might be a hugh problem. Dad told me about a kid a long time ago, that banged on the door but when they finally opened they only found His boots left, everybody believed it was a wolf out there. In His birttown a wolf was shot that was reported to have torn and killed many people, later when wolves where killed off from the country, a somewhat decades later some scientifical report made it clear that wolves never kill people and that stuffed wolf, was put on the loft not to be spoken of again. Nowadays we have a divided opinion here in this country, some say wolves are good and a needed animal and some fear them. I only think that those that actually want the wolf should make sure they get food in the forest or else they come to the humans to find it. If you own a dog, a nasty dog or want a wolf in the forest, feed it in the forest with hares, dears, but do not feed it with Your neighbours sheep or kids or cat or familymembers. If it goes into my doorstep again, I might actually consider it a really nasty wolfdogbreed. There was one point in history when people did start to tame wolves and slowly make them into dogs. I suppose those wolves were even more wolflike. I hope we will never have to start doing that, but we might have to put up the wolffence around the garden.

I saw a poster today advertising a film which will be shown here in January......

Hostiles_film_poster.jpg

An Army captain agrees to escort a dying Cheyenne war chief and his family back to his tribal lands in 1892.

It might be worth watching . It will be interesting to see whether it avoids the caricatures of the many Westerns I watched in my younger days .

Thank you for sharing this information with me, Colin. I really like Wes Studi. He's one of my favorite (Native American) actors. I'm sure this movie will be historically accurate if he's in it. He's a man of integrity and he's proud of his Cherokee heritage too. I hope I can see this movie when it's released.

What I liked about western movies were the old time history but I hated the animal cruelty so much, because many horses did get brutally hurt. I think horse cruelty should be totally forbidden nowadays because one can use computer animation very well or even old scenes if need be but please spare our horses. Horses are obedient until death but why not let them live instead, they usually do no harm.
